I first went to the kitchen and took one knife. Then I checked every corner of the house for anything unusual. I locked every door and window and blocked those with furniture. I checked all the CCTV cameras placed at my place nothing seemed out of the ordinary. If something happened and we were to hide tonight then the closet and the basement would be the worst place.
Same goes with the bathroom. I wouldn't be that stupid. I have two places that I can think of first the garage so I can make her sit in the car, if anything happens we can escape. Second, if we can't make it there I'll take her to the library we can stay hidden where it would buy us some time. I am willing to take any chance here.

Protecting Melissa was my first priority right now. I got 2 knives, a baseball bat, pepper spray, a frying pan (I've seen tangled it worked there) a small iron rod, some glass plates, and a vase and hid those around the house. I wasn't feeling safe here.

I was just about to pack our bags when I heard Melissa squirming. I turned to look at her and saw sweat glistened her forehead, she looked white just like I had found her.

She began murmuring, "Sorry...... Sorry....... I won't run...... Sorry...... Don't hurt me..... Sorry.... Ahhh!!!"

She jumped on the bed and looked around and set her eyes on the window again. She stepped down and backed up till she reached the wall. She sat down and brought the knees to her chest and started crying hysterically.

I reached out to her again in a slow manner.

"Melissa, it's okay, you are fine. No one's here. No one will hurt you, not when I'm here. It's me Mia your sister. Come on Melissa, don't cry, you are fine, you are fine, nothings gonna happen sweetie." I chanted this like a mantra for forever but it was just a few minutes.

After some time she gave me the permission to approach her. I sat on my knees and cradled her face and hugged the life out of her. I petted her head and eventually her crying subsided.

"Shh... You are fine see."

"Mia."

Her voice was hoarse from crying and it was barely a whisper.

"Yeah."

I replied gently.

"I want to tell you something."

"Take your time."

"I... I..."

The words were stuck in her throat, I waited patiently. After a few minutes she finally had the courage to speak.

"That night at club, we were sitting on the barstool and just having some drinks. I was talking with Jane and Christina when a man was eyeing me. Jane nodded towards me and before we could leave he reached me. He slid his hand around my waist and pulled me to him. I tried to get away but his grip was strong. Christina tried to help me but some guards came out of no where and took them both.

This man whose name was Brian William brought me to his place. He crushed my phone with his leather boots and when I tried to pepper spray him, he kicked me in the stomach."

She pointed at her lower abdomen.

"He pointed a knife at my throat and made a cut that reminded me to stay in my place and do what he says no questions asked.
When I refused his demands he started to beat me and said it was my own good. After that night he made me beg even for my basic necessities. He enjoyed when I begged. I was required to acknowledge him by 'Sir' and always end my sentences with 'Please'. I thought he just needed someone to remove his frustrations on but that didn't stop there.
