The twins swiftly made their way to their destination, the further away from their home the more they relaxed.

The street lamps cast a golden light over the road as Arabella crossed her arms over her chest to hold some warmth. She was unsuccessful. Each wave of wind gave her horrible chills. Her sister on the other hand was as warm as the fire that lit their living room during winter.

They turned onto a street full of brick housing, normally bright reds and oranges, now dark scarlets painted the bricks shrouded in shadows. for an unknown reason to them chills ran down there spines like someone was trailing a cold finger down there back. they kept on moving, more aware than before. their steps quite, their breathing quieter still. Alirah looked around before motioning to her sister to follow her. Arabella gave her a puzzled look.

"follow me and be quiet" Alirah frustratingly whispered. Arabella nodded as if she knew what her sister was saying all along. Alirah rolled her eyes and made her way down a dark, dingy side alley way, her sister quick on her heels behind her.

he hid behind the bush as the girls glanced behind them. moments pass before the girls are positive no one saw them before they duck into a spooky side alley way that you wouldn't know was there if you weren't looking for it. he followed after them as quiet as a mouse. the alley was a darkness that no amount of light could match. it was an alley where monsters lurked and death runs free, where the puddle you just stepped in might not be water at all or the howl you hear might not be the wind. fear gripped his thoughts like it was a life line, the only thing pushing him forward was his mission to deliver them to the Queen.

the girls calmly made their way through the alley they had gone through so many times before, the darkness like a starless night stretching on forever.

they emerged from the suffocating darkness, the night sky now visible, was as bright as a dozen candles. they were now on a differing street than the brick houses. so different in fact you could say it was a different world entirely. the road or path separating one side of the street from the other was made of lush, emerald green grass sprinkled here and there with flowers of all colours and shades, some shone like the sun and others were as dark and gloomy as a rainy day. the buildings were more towers and cottages than shops and housing. like something you'd read or hear about in a fairytale. people with sparkling wings and clothes made from the happiest coloured materials were floating about, they were known as fairies. but of course there's some bad seeds, across from where the girls were standing was a plumb, short, bald fairy named arguing with a another about what the girls couldn't tell.

it amazes the girls every time how a pathway so full of fear and darkness could lead to a place so bright and free. never the less their thoughts of the alley drained from their minds when Alice, an old friend of theirs flies over to them doing a loop in the air on her way. her wings golden yellow glittered in the light almost blinding the twins, her red hair like dancing flames blew in every direction with the wind.

"AHHHHH!! its been too long since I have seen you guys, what gives? " Alice questions curiously as she clumsily lands on her feet almost tumbling over. Arabelle answers "well Alice, unlike you we have something called school.....". Alice was not paying attention.

Alirah watched as Alice's face went from happy to dazed and then to urgently serious.

"you both are probably wondering why I called you so urgently here tonight " Alice states in a matter of fact tone. and it was true, when the pair got a message via a pigeon to make there way to Phoenixvale in secret, not to even tell their mum, they were very curious to why.

Alice told them to follow her to her study. her study was a small room with cream colored wood furniture, the floor a wood that looked suspiciously like chocolate, but that might be because Alirah was feeling a bit peckish. a desk with one hazel coloured cushioned chair on one side and two on the other that were pushed against the opposing wall, next to the door was a white book self filled with all types of nick knacks including a brown kitten on one of the highest shelves eating honey out of a honey pot. it was having an old jolly good time. Alice turned and faced them and told them some alarming news.

"we found a Claiwrus, authorities thought it snuck in disguised as a fairy but we couldn't asked it because it turned a knife on itself and chanted long live the queen and slit it's throat. come, I'll show you." Alice finished walking out of her study and down through a door that led through to the prisoner holding cells.

She pointed at a cell but when Arabelle and Alirah went to look in they found that the cell was empty, not even a speck of blood to even say someone died there, not that a Claiwrus is a someone, there beasts that feed on peoples happiness until there's non left, like a fairy in looks apart from there wings and ears, unlike the fairies wings and pointed ears a Claiwrus has bat wings the colour of death and holes with hundreds of tiny needle like teeth where ears are meant to be. they are a creature of pure nightmares.

Alice's eyes went wide with shock, her face twisted with fear and horror.

" there was one here, only an hour ago. it was dead and no one has the key for the cells except me" Alice whispers tonelessly, fear painted plainly on her face.

"well A dead man cant walk" muttered Arabella. her sister gave her a dirty look.
