'Bring your suitcase,' they said.
'It'll be fine,' they said.
'You can check out the dorm after you move in.'"What a load of bullshit."
Jungkook was crouched by the edge of the sidewalk. He let out a deep sigh as his fingers combed through his hair in frustration. In his other hand, Jungkook scrunched a small paper with convoluted directions.
He was cold, hungry, and lost; and on top of it all, his luggage had been stolen while he was trying to direct himself through Seoul's unfamiliar streets.
Jungkook pulled out a tiny flip phone from his pocket - dead. He pursed his lips, biting the inner corner of his cheek, perilously fighting to control his annoyance.
It had been around thirty minutes since he made the terrible decision of wasting his phone's last seconds of life on seeking help from the director.
"Stay put, I'll make some arrangements," was the last sentence Jungkook heard before the director hung up. And so, like an abandoned puppy, he did what he was told and waited.
Was he making a mistake?
Jungkook pulled a business card out of his pocket.
Had he been too naive?
Maybe this life wasn't for him, after all, it seemed like his prevailing misfortune had only begun once he signed the contract.
Would it all be worth it in the end?
"Hey, kid!" A voice suddenly called from the distance. Jungkook immediately stood up, it had been a while since he encountered another person, this was his chance to finally obtain directions.
A man approached him on a motorcycle. "I have your order," he pulled out four pizza boxes and handed them to a confused Jungkook.
"I think there's been a mistake, I didn't order anything," Jungkook admitted. He felt his stomach growl at the sight before him, the possibility of simply accepting the food and fleeing was tempting.
Alas, he was broke and lost. And, to put it frankly, the delivery guy was a lot bigger than him.
"This order was actually prepaid for, I was supposed to take it to a specific apartment complex," He explained.
"But there was a last-minute phone call that offered to pay me extra if I happened to find a teenage boy with ear piercing and a suitcase wandering around this street panicking."
Jungkook scoffed in disbelief, the director was really something else.
The man momentarily looked around Jungkook for what he presumed was his suitcase. His face softened once he caught on to what had happened, "these parts of the city aren't friendly, that's for sure."
He tossed Jungkook a helmet, "one piece of advice, kid." The man began as Jungkook mounted the space behind him on the motorcycle.
"Life is hard, but it's even harder if you're stupid..."
