[A.N]For those of you who have read the books, don't expect this to reflect the characters perfectly in anyway shape or form. and another note for the ones who have read the books, the reason Rika isn't there is because I had it happen so that she returned to the shrine in the capital
I was tired, especially seeing as it was only a week after the great fight with Genno and his army to stop him from summoning the great kami dragon. I stood up and groaned in pain, "argh that hurts" I growled out. The still half possessed Tatsumi woke up to that and he sat up looking over at me,
"You OK Yumeko?" He asked me worry crossing his face letting me know it was Tatsumi speaking and not Hakaimono.
"Yeah I will be Tatsumi" I said rolling my shoulders back and letting my ears and tail show, "Although I could be better" I said lifting my kimono to show the many cuts from the amanjaku that lady satomi had sent to help Genno. I walked over to the other side of the small hut we were staying in and grabbed wraps from the low table, I sat down and wrapped up the cuts and scratches on my legs. Tatsumi walked over to Daisuke and Okame and woke them up so that once I was done with the wraps, they could use them. They all walked over, and I stood up pulling my kimono back down.
"We need to get going" Said Hakaimono's voice as him and Tatsumi walked up next to Daisuke and Okame.
"I know be patient" I said walking over to grab my belongings including the three pieces of the dragon scroll, "we need to get rid of these" I muttered to myself as I tucked them into my bag. Once I had everything, I walked back over to them. "Alright let's go" I said gripping the bag tightly. We walked out and I looked around us as we walked. I noticed that Tatsumi had moved closer to me and I blushed, but I didn't allow it to be noticed, I walked along and saw a familiar road and village and gasped my hands going to my mouth.
"What is it Yumeko-Chan?" Okame asked not having known what lay atop the hill. Tatsumi knew why I had gasped and looked over smiling sympathetically.
He walked over to me, "Are you OK Yumeko?" He asked in a unnaturally soft voice. "We can keep going if you want" He said tearing my eyes away from where the temple stood atop of the hill.
I shook my head and walked towards the road that led to what would now be ruins. "I want to go" I said stopping and turning to look back at them before I continued to walk. We walked up the hill and as we got closer the trees around us began to blacken and wither. Tears sprang to my eyes once we got to the temple ruins, I walked over and walked through what would have been the main entrance where Yamburama had busted through into the main hall. I walked aimlessly through the main hall and ran my hand along the wall that was still there and kitsune-bi sprang to my finger tips and I arced my hands making the fox-fire light all of the candles that were still attached to the wall and smiled wistfully.
Tatsumi walked over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder while the other two stayed back. "Are you OK Yumeko?" He asked quietly turning my head to him. He saw the tears that had stained my face and he smiled and wiped them away.
I nodded to his question and smiled at him. "I am don't worry about me" I said lifting my hand to his face and cupped it around his cheek. "It's just memories" I said turning to look at where Master Isao had brought me to sit me in front of the mirror and he would ask me what I saw in the reflection. I let go of Tatsumi and walked over to the room and sat in front of the mirror just like I would have with Master Isao not that long ago.
Tatsumi came and sat next to me while Daisuke and Okame stayed at the door holding hands. "Might I ask what memories this room holds?" Hakaimono asked in a very unexpectedly calm and sympathetic voice.
