(Roughly ten years ago)

I was headed up to the mountains when I was stopped by shanks.

"You do realize that we might not see each other again right"

I turned and looked back at him. "I'm aware of that possibility but I don't think I'll take it as hard as if you told that to my brother."

He smiled. "You know you are strong enough to come with us with that devil fruit you got and the training we gave you."

I laughed. "I would love two but I have Luffy and two other people I have to look out for. Plus I want to be my own pirate and do my own thing. I want to reshape this very world."

He looked at me and smiled. "So you want to be king of the pirates"

I shook my head no "think a lot bigger" I said with a smirk

He immediately started laughing. "You. Rule the world." He was dieing from the Laughter.

"I have three brothers or at least I consider them brothers. So if I need to rule this world so be it. Along as it keeps them safe. I'd even kill you and your men if it ment keeping them safe"

He calmed down and spoke "You know it will never come to that. Though I'd love to see your goal complete.  That sounds like a nice world knowing you."

He then turned around and started to leave. I sighed and started to head back to our hideout when I stopped and turned once more to Shanks "hey tell Luffy that I'm going to be in the mountains training."

He nods then halts and chucks a fruit at me it was almost the shape of a cross but it had a loop on top.

"I know you already have one but maybe it would be useful to give it to your ships doc-" i didn't really listen since I was hungry so I decided to eat it.

Shanks POV

*CRUNCH*

Oh no.

I run over to Y/n he is going to die "spite it out. " I yelled as I grabbed his face

He then looks at me ''why i thought it was a regular friut"

Was he not listening "are you dumb as soon as you eat the second fruit you.... die......" I waited a little longer. How is he not dieing. "Hey Y/n are you feeling any pain right now?"

He looked confused "yah why. I feel like my body is trying to rip itself apart"

So he is dieing but he should have already exploded.

Then he spoke "well its calming down I honestly. It felt really painful but I did not yell or anything since I didn't want to alarm anyone. Why you ask"

He survived on determination alone.... how much is he just enduring.

I knew people who ate two but the most they lasted before physically exploding was ten seconds.

Just how far is he willing to go.

I then realized I was spacing out and when I came back he was already gone. I just witnessed something that might never happen again.

But one thing is for sure Y/n is destined for greatness.

Y/n POV TIMESKIP

I was currently in a little steel house i made for me and my brothers its only a three room house and I can't form it indefinitely but its a roof for at night

Although lately Ace has been showing up less. I look at Sabo "hey Sabo why you think ace is showing up less"
