2 BBY, Coruscant, Level 5127
The stars were shining brightly that night, twinkling in the sky brightly without a care in the world. Skyscrapers stretched into the sky above highways filled with freighters, taxis and other vehicles alike. Imperial-II Class Star Destroyers towered above it all, keeping an eye on the heart of the Galactic Empire. Stormtroopers policed the streets, arresting criminals of all species found hiding out in various bars and hideouts on the top level of Coruscant.
Suddenly, the peace was disturbed when a ship flew past a couple skyscrapers, whizzing through the air, reaching speeds no one ever thought possible. a couple dozen TIE fighters screeched after the ship, firing their green lasers at it, barely grazing the ship's armor. They chased it through the capital, occasionally shattering a nearby window or 2, but none of them could truly catch up. There could only be one man behind those controls.
Reaper Starlance, one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, had a heavy bounty placed on him after attempting to assassinate a high-ranking imperial officer. He was piloting the Desolation, an old X70B-Phantom Class Prototype, a ship heavily equipped with cloaking devices, missile launchers and lasers. He slingshotted around a building, coming back out behind the TIE fighters, and gunned them down to smithereens."R2, begin repairs on the hyperdrive! now!"
"Roger that, captain." R2-C7, an R2 unit outfitted with a voicebox, rolled over to the hyperdrive, and began tinkering with it's insides. Meanwhile, entire squadrons of TIE fighters were being launched from Imperial-II class Star Destroyers. They were running out of time.
"Hang on R2, this is gonna be a rocky ride!" R2-C7 grabbed onto a nearby pole with his arm just as Reaper pushed the controls and the Desolation dived down, heading at hundreds of kilometers per hour straight down towards the ground. Just before they crashed into a noodle shop, Reaper pulled the ship up before they would've crashedinto the civilian streets. The pursuing TIE fighters were not so lucky, and crashed into the buildings below. The Desolation weaved through the civilian streets, barely missing the walls of several restaurants, shops and apartments.
After he was sure they've lost them, he pulled the ship up and headed towards the sky. "Captain, we've got a problem!" "What is it R2?" he asked. "The wiring on the hyperdrive is permanently damaged, and it will take too long for me to roll over to the spare wiring!" "Don't worry I'm coming!" Reaper set the ship to autopilot, then ran to the back and grabbed a couple of wires and sprinted towards the hyperdrive room.
Meanwhile, a couple of Star Destroyers in orbit began firing at the Desolation as it exited the atmosphere. The Desolation rocked back and forth as it was hit over and over, causing Reaper to trip just as he was getting to the hyperdrive room. R2-C7 grabbed a piece of wire midair and completed the repairs. "Go go go!" Reaper ran towards the cockpit, hoping to get there and jump to hyperspace before the shields went down.
The shields were at a critical rate, one shot away from going down. A turbolaser was fired, and it was going straight towards the cockpit. Just before it hit, Reaper grabbed a wrench and threw it at the console in the cockpit, perfectly hitting the emergency hyperspace jump button. The stars faded into streams of light, and the Desolation jumped into hyperspace, with no idea of where it was headed.
