Chapter 4

I leave the office with a smile on my face secretly thanking God that my day hasn't been ruined from Mr. Evans visit.

I get in my car and head home to meet up with Dad. I get on the highway when my phone goes off. I have my phone programmed to my car so I immediately see that its Chelsea and pick up.

"Hey girl what's up?" I say enthusiastically.

"Well Hello to you Ms. Sunshine. Somebody had a good day."

"Yes I did. Guess who came to see me at my office just before I left."

"Charlie? Please tell me it wasn't Charlie."

"No, not Charlie. Thank God. But it was Mr. Evans. Girl he had me so nervous."

"Oh my gosh, are you serious? I would have peed myself if he came to see me right after I just broke up with his son. I'm not afraid of much but that man is very scary."

"Hahaha Chels he isn't scary, he is just very intimidating. He gives off this aura of power."

"Yeah so what did he want?"

I replay what happened when Mr. Evans came to the office and when I'm done all I hear is silence.

"Uh hello? Chels are you there?"

"I'm here, I'm here. I'm just shocked. I can't believe he didn't chew you up and spit you out. No offense of course. It's just that Charlie is his pride and joy and anyone who does him wrong gets the wrath."

"Yeah I know. I'm just glad that it was a nice visit and not one that would ruin my business. He could have pulled all his accounts if he wanted but he didn't. I would have lost a lot of revenue and probably some other accounts as well."

"Well it's good that it was a good visit then. So anyways what are you doing tonight?"

"I'm on my way home right now because I'm going to have dinner with my dad tonight."

"Oh that's good. I love your dad, he is such a sweetheart. Your mom, not so much." At this point I can picture Chelsea making an ugly face. Everytime anyone brings up my mom she either rolls her eyes or makes an ugly face. Yes, that's how bad my mother is. That not even my happy-all-the-time best friend likes her.

"Yeah I know what you mean. That woman seriously has problems. I need to set her straight again." I pull into the driveway, put in my pin code for the security gate, and drive up.

"Try not to be too mean. She is still your mother."

"Yeah, yeah whatever. But hey I'll call you later, I just pulled up to the house."

"Wait! Before I forget, we are having girls night tomorrow. Becka, Trina, and Sadie are all coming so it should be fun."

I absolutely hate girls night. Becka is just a total slut and drama queen. Trina and Sadie are okay but they seem more afraid of me than anything. They always just agree with whatever I say. I'm not close to any of them but I know that Chelsea is so I put up with them.

"Alright I guess I have no choice because I am not about to argue with you. I never win. Text me the details and I'll call you after dinner."

"Yay! Okay love you Boo!"

"Love you too Chels!" I hang up and get out of the car.

I get into the house only to hear my mother yelling at someone. Great here we go again. I honestly think that if my mother wasn't such a B that I would have grown up to be a much nicer person. I learned over the years that I had to be brutal to get what I want.
