i woke up the next morning to warm sunlight caressing my face and the sound of birds chirping in the distance. the pleasant scent of apples filling my nostrils and the feeling of holding a girl in my arms.

wait, what?

my eyes flew open to reveal a very confusing view above me.

light blue sky, white fluffy clouds, and golden sunlight.

i began to panic.

why was i waking up outdoors? who was i holding in my arms?

it didn't take too long for the memory of last night to come flooding back.

i was stargazing with celine. we were talking and she fell asleep. i didn't have the heart to wake her up, so apparently, i fell asleep as well. and neither of us woke up until this morning.

i lifted my head slightly to assess the situation.

her face was nuzzled against my neck, her arm was draped across my abdomen, her hand was resting on my waist, and one of her legs tangled with mine.

meanwhile, my arm was around her small back with my hand resting low on her hip.

lifting my free arm carefully, i glanced at my watch.

it was almost seven in the morning and i realized we needed to go home quickly.

"celine," i said, softly nudging her.

"hmm?" she stirred slightly.

her hand moved to my chest as she snuggled even closer.

i gulped as i stared up at the sky.

this was the first time i had woken up next to a girl and the first time i had slept with one in the literal sense. i hated to admit it, considering who the girl was, but it was nice. the feeling of her in my arms was warm and soft.

i didn't know what to do, especially considering that when she woke up, she was going to freak out.

"celine," i said a little louder, shaking her this time.

"what?" she mumbled, sounding annoyed.

she brought her hand up and placed it along the side of my face and gave me a peck on my cheek and said, "morning."

"hey," i replied.

why was jack's voice heard this morning?

it only took three minutes before i realized something wasn't right.

maybe it was the fact that we were outside or the fact that i was lying on the ground next to jack. whatever it was, it hit me hard.

my smile instantly vanished as i gasped.

i pushed myself away from him and stumbled backward.

"what the hell?" i squealed.

i glanced at our surroundings with a look of pure confusion on my face as i struggled to stand.

"we must have fallen asleep," jack explained as he sat up.

with my shaky hands, i reached into the back pocket of my shorts looking for my phone but came up empty-handed.

"where's my phone?" i asked, patting my other pockets, "what time is it?"

"it's a little after seven," he replied.

he stood up, bunched up the blanket, and grabbed the flashlight.
