Tears streamed down the girl's face, she couldn't stop the tears from falling. She groaned weakly from the pain of the glass cutting through her skin. She glanced back to the window, now shattered with blood dripping from where her arm had broken through. She shakily grabbed a small piece of the glass from the ground and put it up to her already bloody arm.

The tears came back in another flooding stream as she brought the small piece of glass down on the ground, blood dripped down onto the cold tiled floor. She didn't know what to do anymore.

The stress of maintaining her so-called 'perfection' had driven her too far. She smiled slightly, her sister's birthday is tomorrow. She wishes she could have been a better sister for her. Happier.

However, her depression had too strong a hold on her, allowing no escape from its shadowy grasp. She ran to the only safe place she had left. Her school. The school year was over, no one was there to lurk through the halls she had called home.

With a shaky sigh, she tossed the glass aside, shuffling from discomfort due to the thick streams of blood slowly making its way down her arm. She had gotten light-headed from the blood loss but unfortunately, the cuts weren't deep enough to cause any real damage to her body. She thought back to her family, her mother.

Her mother had always been relatively strict, it was unquestionable that she loved all her children, however, she would despise Mayne if she had known who she really was beneath that shiny mask. Mayne wasn't as perfect as her mother had thought, wasn't as pure or as honest either.

People have always said that you aren't in trouble if you don't get caught. Mayne was never caught. Her dad had only passed away two years ago, he was barely ever home. Mayne realized that no one even knew his favorite color even after he passed.

Mayne's sister was the real treasure of the house, her mother didn't seem to think that way though. Mayne had always seen her younger sister, Amdis to be brave. She put the real her out there. She brought people home and spoke the things on her mind. She never studied but paid enough attention in class to not get anything below a B+.

Amdis truly cared underneath all of her brash comments, and she could be quite beautiful when her tears stopped falling from her eyes. Amdis wore blacks and grays, never taking advice from anyone.

This was the complete opposite of Mayne. Mayne studied all night long only to receive a B as her highest grade for the year. She wasn't out about her love Interest and she would never be with the girl that had caught her attention.

She never left after curfew, her clothing filled with pinks and whites. She took advice without a second thought, even the bad ones. She had hacked into the school grades to change her grades to As before they were sent home.

Mayne was a fucking idiot! She wasn't out of the stupid shitty closet! She was a good for nothing cheater! She set a bad example, she wasn't the real her. She was a simple stuck up that did whatever needed to be done just to satisfy others.

She needed to die. But she couldn't do it by herself. She knows people would miss her but she was a monster that needed to be gone.

She looked at the dozens of classrooms and eyes the art room. Art was the only thing she was ever good for. She still remembers the hoodie she hand-stitched for her younger sister, Amdis.

It was a skull, detailed with shadows. Flowers of bright reds, blues, and purples bloomed all around the skull. Amdis's cheeks had flushed and she thanked her but she never wore it.
Maybe it wasn't as good as Mayne had thought. The floors echoed clinks through the halls from her pink flats. She lifts her leg and slides the flats off her feet, dropping them ungracefully onto the ground.

The cold floor felt nice to her bare feet that had grown sore from the too-small shoes. Her thin silk-like dress wasn't enough to keep out the shivering as she walked deeper into the cold school.

A comfortable silence fell over her. She thought of her choices and weighted them onto invisible scales before the rain began pounding onto the roof, thunder ringing in her ears. Startled, she jumped away from all the windows and almost hit a wall.

The storm had hit so suddenly, how was she going to get home!? She jumped as her back hit against a rough surface, she spun around to see the wall she bumped into only to be face to face with someone else.

It was a girl. She had long hair with small waves but it was all in a mess. Horns curled into themselves on both sides of her head, one of them had been broken through. The dark makes it hard to see color but the girl's irises glowed red. The rest of her eyes were pure black.

She wore a striped crop top along with ripped jeans, the rest of her appearance stayed hidden in the shadows. Mayne forced herself to step away from this woman who seemed unreal in more ways than one.

The woman laughed throwing her head back, but when her gaze landed on Mayne her face grew serious again. "The hell you doin' in my school, little girl?" Mayne raised her trembling hands up, ready to surrender.

"I used to go here and I just wanted to visit again, I'll leave I promise!" Mayne yelled, trying to find a way out to get out of this situation.

The horned woman grabbed Mayne's arm and pulled it closer. With a gasp, Mayne stumbled forward, stopping all movement. "So, you wanna die?" The woman asked with an amused expression.

Shocked, Mayne looked at her feet before mustering up the courage to give a soft reply, "yes."

"Want me to kill you?" The horned woman prompted eagerly. Mayne looked up, fear coursed through her at the sight of the wide smile on the woman's face, "you see, I happen to be a demon I've been stuck in this shitty dump for quite a long time and lately I've been aching for another murder. You are young and you also want to die... so you like this school right?" Mayne slowly nodded, disbelief rushing through her. "Since I'll be killing you here, your memories will only be of this school."

It had really sounded promising. "Are you really a demon?" Mayne asked. Well, It would certainly explain the horns and the eyes. The woman gave a blank stare and nodded.

Mayne's sister had always believed in the supernatural until Mayne finally convinced her that it wasn't really just three months ago.

"So what do you say, kid? Deal or no deal?" The woman asked impatiently.

"Sure, why not. It's not like I have anything to lose, right?" Mayne answered nonchalantly as the tears began falling. She let out a small chuckle and looked up only to see that twisted smile for just one second before pain shot through her body and her world went black.
