Jes and Caity

Their lips touched, pulling each other closer, the kiss was short and sweet but full of love. The taller of the two girls quickly lifted the other up and into her arms. The smaller of the two screeched and giggled as they moved closer to the water edge. "no....no please Jes, don't." she laughed as she was held above the water. SPLASH. Her body hit the water, her jeans and black t-shirt were soaked through. Both girls were laughing. Jes offered her hand out to her, but Caity had other ideas. With another big splash, Jes joined the smaller girl in the water.

Quickly the girls got changed into fresh and dry clothes on Jes's uncles' houseboat. He was on an expedition to Peru so the girls had been allowed to stay there during the weekends. "Did you feel that?" Caity asked when they were lying on the sofa watching a Netflix film, "no" she replied, "come on relax, ooh this is the best part." Caity cuddled back up to Jes and placed her head on her shoulder. "ok I definitely felt that" a load scraping noise shock the boat. The houseboat began to move.

They picked up speed the boat was now zooming down the river. The girls stood up. Their minds racing with what could have gone wrong, they stumbled out of the room, towards the deck, Caity's foot stuck a stair forcing her onto the ground, pain spread through her ankle. She crawled up the rest of the stairs and joined Jes on the deck. The roar of water hitting rocks surrounded them. The path of the boat was heading straight towards the waterfall. It was a 30-metre drop onto sharp rocks. They would have to be insanely lucky to survive.

Jes' hand grabbed hold of Caity's, they stared at each other knowing that it would likely be the last time they saw each other and there was no way of the boat, 3 seconds away, 2, 1 last second. The boat tipped and flew through the air. There was a loud crash as the boat shattered against the rocks. The limp bodies of the two girls sank down into the depths of the river. The blood from where they hit themselves on the rocks dyed the water a rich shade of red. Jes's eyes blinked open, she grabbed Caity's wrist and pushed upwards, breaking the surface of the water she coughed out the water that was in her lungs and checked Caity's puls. Nothing. Her eyes filled with tears, she couldn't lose her Caity
