Lady Eleanor closed her eyes and focused her mind on the glowing blue orb of magic in her hands. She stood in the courtyard of the castle that had been her prison. He stood in front of her. He stared at her, dressed in his haughty and proud attire. He dared her to do what she so desperately wanted to.
There he was in front of her, and he was standing so calmly.
The enemy.
Her enemy. He had done so much damage to so many people she had come to care for. He had caused so much hurt to her, her loved ones, and her friends, and she could no longer watch it happen. Eleanor wouldn't watch it happen anymore. She must take action.
Her breaths came quickly, though she tried to slow them down and show her control over her own body and mind. Could she really do it? Could she destroy the man who had determined to ruin her life from the beginning?
Wind ripped around her causing her dress to flap and fly around her ankles. Her hair that had been so neatly pulled back now flew around her as if it were a writhing mass of live snakes. Her crystal eyes glowed bright blue in the light of her magic as she opened them to look again upon the devilish man in front of her. Even now he smiled. His evil smirk made her angry.
He is a monster, she told herself. The world will be better off without him.
