" Dringggggggggggg..." I hear my phone's alarm go off. It's already morning ! Uhh! I stretch my arms and turn around to look at the window framed between our beds. The weather is still the same. I get out of bed and slip on my slippers. Walking over to the kitchen, my mother is already up.

"Good Morning !" I say. My mom simply nods, not being a morning person. Our kitchen is very small and is also falling apart. The dishwasher doesn't work and we must always wash our plates, pans and cutlery. It's a pain in the ass.
The walls are red and is probably the worst part of the house other than the bathroom, not that it's very nice either.
I pour myself a cup of coffee and sit down on the small island we use as a table. I finish up my coffee and head back to my room. I pull out a white top and a black skirt. I pair the cute outfit with a fake gold necklace and white heels. We may not have a lot of money but I make do when it comes to my wardrobe. I tend to buy most of my clothing from second hand stores. I almost always find a perfect outfit each time I go. It's simply luck, I guess. Once I'm ready, I grab my school bag and head out the door without having eaten breakfast. I'm not hungry.
"Bye Mom!" I say on my way out grabbing my coat and hat slipping them on.
" Bye Honey" I hear her yell back.
I walk to school, thoughts swirling in my head and the wind blowing in my face. Keeping my marks up is a necessity to stay in this school. I can never stop stressing over them. However with Christmas break coming up next week, I will soon have a break. Our midterms were completed a week early so that we could have, what the teachers consider, a "fun week". All it really is though, is learning new stuff ahead of time before break, so we have less to do when we return.

I arrive at school ahead of time and walk in like a boss. Haha.. More like I trip and fall, slamming my head into a locker. I am quickly sent to the nurses office. I am klutz , what can I say.

"The bruising isn't too bad. You will be fine." says the nurse. "How did you manage this Rosie, at such an early hour in the morning? No one's even at school yet. You shouldn't wear heels next time."
" I don't know and the heels aren't the problem" I answer shrugging my shoulders.
She bandages up my head and 10 minutes later I'm on my way to get my books from my locker.

All of a sudden I hear a whoshing sound coming from the hallway. I take my books out of my locker and put away my coat and hat. I make my way down the hallway, my heels clickty clacking on the tiles. I search for the source of the sound. I come to a wide open door. Inside there is boy playing with a computer and speakers making that same noise. He's wearing a hood and I can't see his face.

"Who are you?" I say. "What are you doing here so early?" I ask. He looks up stunned, probably to see that another student is here.

" Oh hi... I'm getting ready for a project I have to do for art." replies the boy. I smile as I realize it was the boy from the street.

"That's cool. Do you remember me ?" He smiles but it falters slightly.

"Yes of course!" he says.

" I haven't seen you at the school before, are you new? " I reply.

"Yes indeed I am. I just transferred here a year ago. I moved from England actually."

I feel a slight drop in my stomach at what he's told me. He moved here a year ago. I don't know why but it gives me a suspicious feeling.

" Why don't you have an accent then?" I ask. He looks confused for a moment. His expression quickly changes to a straight face.

"I wasn't born there I moved around a lot. Never long enough to catch any accents. I'm originally born in Canada though" he says.

"Oh. Ok." As I answer him, the warning bell rings. I turn around and notice all the people rushing through the hallways. How did I not notice them a minute ago? It felt as if we were alone when I was talking to him..

"I gotta go." I say dashing out, leaving once again without exchanging names.

I run up the stairs but don't make it on time. The bell rings. I walk into class and the teacher stares at me.

"You know what to do Ms. Ross." I nod. I'm late, I have to go and get a late slip.
I quickly arrive at the front desk of our school. Ms. Ernlenmyer, our secretary, looks at me weirdly. You see I'm never late. All because I was speaking with that boy I didn't realize what time it was. It felt like only mere seconds speaking to him. In reality, 10 minutes had passed.
She hands me the late slip.

"Detention after school Ms Ross, don't forget."

I nod and as I walk away, once again I bang into someone. I look up to see that it is the very same someone who got me a detention. I stare at him pissed and walk away. At least, it looks like he got a detention as well. I'm not the only one.
