After I graduated I was beyond excited to step into a new phase of life. It was a month away until college reopened. Since my family was busy with work, my friends were either completing their last semester while some had already gone someplace to enjoy some time away from Michigan and I was running tight on my pockets, I decided to pack my bag and go to Florida for a trip by myself. I was picturing myself lolling on the sofa, having spa nights every day, enjoying the cool breeze, going to new places, and overall enjoying some time alone.
I finally rented out this house in the woods that I found online for a cheap price. It looked decent enough and it was huge. It took me some time to finally reach the address but when I did, the tiring journey was all worth it. The woody house with a red-tiled roof and lush green garden had a white door with a wreath on it as if it was still Christmas. As I walked in I was surprised to see a well-furnished house with a huge dining hall and white painted walls giving it a finishing touch. My bedroom was no exception. The bed sheets were clean and the wallpaper perfectly contributed to the aesthetic of the whole house. I set aside my suitcase and got into my comfy clothes to discover what more did the house have to offer. The kitchen, the guest area even the swimming pool outside was beautiful. But what caught my eye was the library. The wooden shelves were decked out with books of all genres. Adventure, horror, suspense, fantasy, fiction possibly anything that anyone can think of. It was huge. However , the one book that stuck out compared to the others was a hand-painted journal with binding clips on the side to hold the book together. The pages were all yellow and crinkly and the handwriting was absolutely beautiful. I was admiring the beauty of the book when I came across the sentence which read "Hi I'm May and I'm a murderer."
