She felt a slight bit guilty at pressuring Jamie into dancing with her. But only a bit.
After all, if it weren't for him, she would be dancing with Edmund right now!

Yes, she thought cheekily, the least he could do is give her a dance.
It was the perfect excuse to get past that tough exterior Jamie always seemed to have on show.

As the music began to play, she looked up at him curiously.
He was holding her at arms legnth, but she didn't mind - not really.
At least she had got him to dance with her - that was a miracle all on its own!

Slowly, as the dance went on, he began to relax slightly.
She could see that all of his partizan instincts were still in full action mode, but he was physically beginning to relax in her arms -

He was closer to her now -

They had subconsciously drifted together and we're no longer at arms legnth.
Which, she discovered, made her feel suprisingly comfortable and safe.

She could feel his muscles stretching the tan skin of his abs through his shirt, and she suddenly felt all warm and tingly inside.
He looked down at her, and the emotion in his eyes rendered her speechless.
She stared deep into his eyes, as he looked down at her.

It felt like he was looking straight into her soul.

She felt her legs go wobbly.
He smirked and bent towards her.
For a split second her lips tingled in anticipation before her brain kicked in and she realised he was heading to whisper something in her ear.

She was so distracted by the sweet sensation of his lips brushing her ears, and the warm breath tickling her neck, that she barely took in what he was saying.
All she understood was that he was teasing her.
And that if she moved her face slightly...

...his lips could be on hers in a heartbeat.

Jamie was talking to her again.

She tried to ignore how his body felt against hers, and made an effort to listen to what he was saying.
At his words, she spun round without a thought.. and there she was.

Her princess.

She came towards Lottie, a storm of passion and fire, and Lottie found herself being spun and dipped niftily.
She gasped, and beamed up at her giddily.

Through strands of black silky hair, Ellie looked at her with those mesmerising midnight eyes.

Lottie found herself breathless.

As Ellie twisted her upright again, Lottie remembered Jamie with a jolt.
She whipped her head around but realised he must have left when he saw the opportunity.

Ellie bent down to whisper in her ear -
"Hi" she whispered, her warm breath sending tingly sensations down Lottie's neck.

Lottie found herself suddenly breathless again.

"Hi" she whispered, giggling.
She vaguely heard Ellie ask if she could have this dance, half mockingly.
But all she could really see were those midnight eyes who had no mocking in them at all -

She felt like she was drowning in them...

As they danced, their bodies seemed to fit together perfectly - like two parts of a puzzle.
By the time the song ended, Lottie's body was on fire.

She never wanted the dance to end -

And she'd never felt so completely and utterly overwhelmed.

She felt stuck in the middle -

Her dance with Jamie, once he had let some of his guards down, had been perfect.
Like that was where she was meant to be.

But then her dance with her Ellie had been every bit as magical. She'd never wanted it to end...
