I stood staring at the image in the mirror barely recognizing my stocky frame. My hazel eyes had no light, they were as dark as my mood. My sun kiss amber hair was dried and looked as fragile as my heart. I took in my caramel skin and saw my imaginary battle scars. I bit my dry lips fighting back tears and a memory. In that moment I could not bare looking at my shell anymore....
Piping hot water wash over me beating at my brain, beating at me to remember and face the memory. I closed my eyes and the sound of the water becomes distant. All I can see is a young girl ...god she looks so innocent walking and being enchanted by a new experience, a new city and new found freedom. Someone was watching and laughing at the innocence that was walking to classes. I felt the watching eyes and paused slowly looking around for my voyer. It didn't take long for me to see him leaning on a tree, a smile etched on his lips. Not wanting to return his gaze I hurried away to my first class.
