It was late when Aizawa got back to the teachers dorms. He was ready to get to his room, collapse on the bed, and sleep after his long night on patrol. But as soon as the thunderstorm had started, he knew he wouldn't be able to get to sleep. Its not that he dislikes thunderstorms; the opposite, actually. He loved them, and especially loved the hours of silence after the storm had passed. This night was different however.
It was about 2am when he finally entered the comforting hold of his bed. He would've instantly been asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow if it wasn't because of the noises coming from the room next to his. This room in particular belonged to an assistant teacher that Nezu had put in his class. Their name was (Y/N) (Y/L/N). If he was being honest with himself, he liked you. A lot. He didn't know why, but he did. And he wouldn't be able to sleep without checking in on you first.
Aizawa sighed and stood up before leaving his room and walking until he was stood outside of your door. He took a deep breathe before raising his hand and knocking.
No reply.
He did it again.
He heard a whimper from inside the room. Now he was seriously worried.
"(Y/N)? It's Shota, can you please let me in?"
"I-I-It's open Shota." he heard their voice from the room on the other side of the door. He opened the door and what he saw in the dark room broke his heart.
(Y/N) was sat on the floor at the end of their bed, surrounded by pillows while multiple blankets covered their shaking body. Shota waisted no time in rushing over to them.
"(Y/N)? What's wrong?" However, (Y/N) didn't need to respond verbally; there was a flash of lightening and then the sound of thunder, and (Y/N) whimpered before hiding deeper in the mountain of blankets.
They're afraid of thunderstorms.
(Y/N). The one person in the entire damn world that hadn't ever shown even a hint of fear; shaking underneath a pile of what could easily be ten blankets.
Aizawa didn't like seeing them like this. Not one bit. And so, without a second thought, he climbed under the blankets with them, holding them close to his chest while stroking their (H/L) (H/C) hair gently. Their heart was beating so fast that Aizawa could feel it.
It took several moments, but soon he felt their breathing slow and their body stop shaking. (Y/N) had fallen asleep in the warm, secure embrace of his arms.
That night Aizawa didn't sleep. He was busy protecting (Y/N) from the storm that was raging outside. What he didn't know was that from that night on, (Y/N) wouldn't be able to sleep outside of the comfort his arms gave them.
