"Ready to fly?" Sorrow asked. Shadowus nodded. They unfurled their wings and flew off.

They landed in the Clearing, a large circular meadow with a river running through. Radulf the Gray, king of the werewolves, was waiting there with Safiria, queen of the vampires, a breeze blowing through her black hair with blood red tips, and through Radulf's brown fur.

"Welcome, daughter," Radulf said, blue eyes shining.

"Father," Sorrow responded, bowing her head.

"Shadowus," Safiria purred, holding her left hand out towards him.

"Your highness," he said, kissing her hand.

Sorrow's eyes quickly flashed red with anger.

"Safiria," Sorrow said, bowing her head again.

"Sorrow," she replied. They stood there for a minute.

"Well," Radulf finally said. "We have have some exciting news for you."

"We are now allies," Safiria continued.

"Really?" Sorrow and Shadowus asked.

"Yes." Shadowus beamed. Sorrow stood there, stunned.

"I-I don't believe this. After all these years..." A smile crossed her lips. Shadowus touched his ring finger to Sorrow's head, turning her into a human, and they hugged tightly, Shadowus kissing her head.

"From this moment on," Safiria went on. "The werewolves and the vampires will be working together, trading with each other. On that note, I must be off." She flew off, Shadowus by her side. Sorrow turned to leave when her father said,

"Sorrow, a word please." Sorrow turned into a wolf and walked up to her father. "Safiria has mentioned the ancient laws to me." He paused. "As it turns out, I am not allowed to step down." He turned to look at his daughter. "I know you must be upset-"

"I'm not upset," Sorrow interrupted. "I'm not ready to be queen. I don't want to rule the pack yet. She saw the relieved look on Radulf's face.

"Whew," Radulf sighed. "What a relief." His face became grave. "Just because you are not going to be queen for a long time does not mean you can slack on your royal duties."

"Yes sir. I understand." She looked down in embarrassment.

"That means that I want immediate answers to my howls."

"Yes sir."

" And another thing..." he paused. "I don't want you to spend so much time with Shadowus."

"That, father, I will not do. Shadowus can help me with my royal studies. He is the royal adviser of a queen."

"My mind is made up. No further discussion." He started to walk off, but Sorrow jumped in front of him.

"No, father." Radulf looked startled. "I will not stop spending time with Shadowus. He is my friend. I can't abandon him just like that." Radulf contemplated for a minute. Then shook his head.

" I said no, Sorrow!" he yelled. " And that is final." he turned to go, but Sorrow attacked him, grabbing him by the scruff of his neck and tossing him into the river.

"Father, I will fight you on this matter in a heartbeat," she growled. Radulf shook off his fur and turned to face Sorrow.

"Then a fight you shall get," he growled back, and leaped forward, biting her ankle. Sorrow bit his ear and tackled him to the ground. Radulf pushed her off and pinned her down. Sorrow kicked him off and stood up, changing into a human. Radulf followed suit.

"So, the great Radulf has changed forms," Sorrow gasped. "This is going to be interesting." And she punched him in the jaw. Radulf grunted and held his jaw.

"You know I cannot fight a girl, Sorrow." And he bowed. "You win this round. You can spend time with your friend." He walked off, rubbing his jaw.
