Requested by Lola53788

Hello again readers! Another requested oneshot this time, where the reader is working in Central Perk and Chandler keeps flirting with her until she gives in. A bit different from what I'm used to which is great, I love writing plotlines outside my comfort zone as it helps me become a better writer.

Keep the requests coming! Another request is due to be published within the next couple of weeks. I always answer DMs and I check comment sections for requests every few weeks! Don't feel shy to ask me because I'm not here to judge... my job is to fulfil your requests (within reason lol) :)

Sorry about the hiatus, I wanted to take a few weeks off this book to work on my other stuff.

Happy reading!

"Sorry I'm late, Gunther," I apologise to my brother, putting on my apron with a small, fake yawn, "Couldn't sleep last night so I slept through my alarm." I'm surprised he believes me, to be honest. If he was any other manager, I'd be fired by now, but seeing as I'm his sister I get a couple more free passes.

"That's okay, just try not to be late again," he sighs, handing me my apron. "Now take these coffees to table three, Rachel's too busy talking to her friends." I glance over at the waitress, sitting with her five friends. One of them is telling them about a dream he had last night, and before long I realise I'm just staring at him. I jerk back to reality just as we make eye contact, and I busy myself with cleaning the cappuccino machine after hastily bringing the coffee to table three.

I glance back at the man, absently brushing a stray hair behind my ear before going to another table to take orders. Why do I keep feeling the need to look at him? I barely know this man... He comes up to the counter and I straighten my apron before asking for his order. Except the words somehow get lodged in my throat, and now I'm just staring at him again.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer." he says coolly, running a hand through his hair. I clear my throat, trying to stay professional.

"Can I take your order?" I ask nonchalantly. I make him a cup of coffee, and with that he's gone. I can't believe I screwed that up. Who cares about being professional... this is only a temporary job anyway!

The next day, I'm wiping down tables when I look up and the man from yesterday is standing right in front of me. "Hey, waitress-"

"My name is [Y/N]." I correct him.

"Well, [Y/N], I just want to get to know you. I'm Chandler. So... where are you from?"

"Nashville, Tennessee."

"That's funny, 'cause you're the only ten I see!" he smiles expectantly.

"Are you expecting me to laugh, ask you out, or both?"

"Neither, actually..."

"Can I take your order, then?"

"Yeah. I'll have a coffee, and... your number? Maybe a date?"

"Nice try, Chandler, but you're gonna have to try a little harder than that," I smile, rolling my eyes, picking up my tray and starting to collect empty cups. I go behind the counter to put back the tray and notice Chandler has followed me and is now sitting at the counter. He's staring at me, and it's starting to get a little weird. "Are you okay?" I ask.

"Well, I'd feel better if you agreed to go out with me." he smirks, leaning forwards.

"I have a hard time believing someone as hot as you will struggle to find someone better than me." I say nonchalantly, continuing with my work.

"And yet I can't."

I turn around, leaning forward on the counter to face him, and now I'm smirking. "You can't?"

"What else would I be doing here? Came for the coffee, stayed for the cute waitress."

"I'm cute?"

"Of course. And the fact you don't know it makes you even cuter."

I notice we're inching closer and closer together as we speak, and we're almost nose to nose now. I'm about to speak when Gunther interrupts us.

"[Y/N], get back to work. You can flirt with customers on your own time, people are waiting for their coffee."

I roll my eyes and get back to pouring coffee, trying but failing to get Chandler off my mind.

My shift finally ends, and I head back to my apartment, dropping my apron on the floor and slumping on the couch. I'm living with Gunther at the moment but he's out on a date, leaving me alone for the evening. I look at the clock, realising I should probably start making some dinner. Stepping briefly into the kitchen before remembering I haven't cooked since the time I almost burned down the house, I pick up the phone and order a pizza instead.

Half an hour later there's a knock at my door, and I'm less than surprised to find Chandler on the other side of it, holding a pizza box. "You're a pizza delivery guy?" I ask, a little confused.

"No, I do data recon- No, I'm not. They sent it to my place by mistake. I didn't know you lived in this building."

"Yeah, I'm living with my brother at the moment. He's out on a date."

Chandler smirks. "And why should that information be important to me?"

"I don't know... why did you deliver my pizza instead of letting the delivery guy take it here?" I retort with a small smile, taking a step towards him. "You knew I lived here, didn't you?"

Chandler's smirk falters. "I- well, I know where Gunther lives, and... I heard him mention you were living with him, and..."

"Interesting," I comment, taking hold of the end of his tie and gently tugging it towards me. "If I didn't know better, I'd say you liked me."

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you liked me."

"Well, we're both very stupid then, aren't we?" We're merely an inch apart now, and I can't help myself any longer. I close the gap between us, kissing him slowly and dropping his tie as my hands find his chest. He kisses me back enthusiastically, pushing us backwards so he can close the door behind us. My hands edge from his chest to his shoulders, to the back of his neck, coming to rest in his hair. I pull back, fighting for breath, and Chandler's hands move to my waist. Our foreheads meet, and for the first time we just look at each other for a moment, all jokes and flirtatious comments aside, just... just being with each other. It's only now that I see a side to him I didn't before: his kind, gentle, loving side, shrouded by his sarcastic comments and jokes.

And somehow in that moment, I realise he's here to stay.
