Wednesday, great...

Pov - Riley

I woke up at 6:45, sweating, at Tess's house. I decided to stay over after we've spent the whole day together, as a girl's day. I had the weirdest dream though, I went over my conscious moments again from the attack, but it was different because now I saw the attack on me, and it felt so real... Well duh, Riley it was real... Anyways, I went downstairs and saw Tess making eggs, "Good Morning soul sister, how'd you sleep?" she asked, "A little better, thanks..." I said rubbing my eyes, technically I'm not lying, even though I had a horrifying dream... I did wake up more refreshed. We sat down and ate, while we were doing this the news was on the TV talking about the murder of Jenna, at that moment I had another sting in my head and saw her eyes... I don't know why I just saw them... Maybe it's because of sorrow... but I wonder if it's something else. Tess asked if I was okay, and I said yes, but didn't tell her about the eyes thing, I don't think it really matters. Or so I thought

Once we were done, I got ready, I didn't feel like putting on my makeup, but I brushed my hair and teeth, put on some lilac perfume, and some blood orange old spice deodorant, I wore a large blue hoodie and dark black ripped jeans like I always do. I have some clothes I leave at Tess's house, just in case I spend the night. I put on my black combat boots, grabbed my bookbag, ran down the stairs, and ran out the front door, and got into Tess's old, red, chevy pickup.

We drove off, Tess blasting her godforsaken rock music. I start to think about the murder, I'm thinking about all the people who could have done it, it could've been Jenna's old lovers, like maybe her toxic ex... Dean Gape... I once saw Jenna crying in the hallway while Dean was getting his ass kicked by James and Ben, I couldn't help but laugh at that because he deserves it. I definitely have my suspicions about him though...

"Who do you think did it?" I asked Tess, "You mean about the murder?" she asked. "Yeah," I said, "Ummm I don't know, it could've been a robbery gone wrong from a thug or something, you know how dangerous that alleyway is," she said, "Yeah... But it seems in the news report that it wasn't really a robbery because nothing seemed stolen, the killer made it look like that." I said, "God Riles! I don't know and I don't really care, can we just talk about something less depressing?" she said harshly and annoyed, "Umm ok, sorry..." I said a little surprised by her outburst. "Sorry soul sister, I'm just honestly freaked about a possible killer being among us..." she said apologetically. " No it's fine, your right lets talk about something less depressing. Umm, have you been talking to that Sasha girl?" I asked cautiously, she blushed, "Ummm maybe..." she said along with a smile she tried to hide. "Ooooo, look at you blushing!" I said playfully punching her. "Will you stop!" she said with a laugh. "Have you?... You know... with Sasha?" I said with a mischievous smirk, "Umm, yeah...." she awkwardly giggled, "she must have done something to you if you're giggling. She rolled her eyes with a smile. That's when we pulled into the school parking lot, and all I thought was 'great another day at Windell Hall High School!'

Pov - James

I woke up at 6:00 am and decided to get ready early. I started doing my usual routine, I did a couple of my workouts for 20 minutes. I went to take a quick shower, brushed my teeth, but... after that, I felt tired and down again. I didn't feel like finishing my routine, so I went into my closet and pulled out some white sweats with a gray hoodie. I tried to fix my hair with my hands but I ended up giving up. For some reason, I just didn't care.

I walked to the kitchen and saw my mom. She obviously was crying and hasn't gotten sleep since she got home. She was just standing there looking out the window while drinking a cup of coffee. She turned and wiped tears from her face. "Hi sweetie..." she said with a little lightness in her face. "Hi, mom..." I said as I came up and hugged her. I don't usually hug anyone, but this feels nice... And we've both been through a lot lately. I pull away. "How are you doing sweetie?" she asked tenderly. "I'm sad still, but doing okay, still processing things," I answered calmly. "How about you?..." I ask, "Just like you, but still hurting pretty bad...." she said, holding back tears, "Yeah..." I said softly. "Where's dad?" I ask, "He's sleeping, he's actually REALLY taking this hard, he hadn't slept until we got home..." she said miserably. I nod slowly, I pull her in for one more hug. "Hey if it's ok... I might go to school..." I said, "Okay, that sounds fine to me, but Tomorrow we're going in to talk more with the police." she said. "Ok..." I said.
