Chapter 15 - New era

After they calmed down and tried to understand the situation , Holland felt a need to explain and hoped Lucian will listen and not hate him even though it would be reasonable after all . As much he wanted to ran away and never look back , Lucian felt like it's pointless to hide and that he should solve it right there . Everything he ever believed in was shook and suddenly he felt he belongs to nowhere . Holland wanted to tell him the whole story so he began to talk about his mother but Lucian didn't want to listen to him . He was only interested in one question :

„Why ? Why did you give a baby to Marco ? Why did you rejected your own child ?"

Holland lost words and from a guy who has an answer to everything he turned into a silent guy who can't think of one logical sentence .

„I ... I had to ! I thought I will protect you !"

Lucian went mad and started to shout at Holland :

„Protect me from what ? From whom ? You think that was enough ? You think you helped me?"

„I thought I did ! You look amazing , you are smart , well educated , passionate and strong young man with manners ! You think you would be all that if you were with me ?! I am where I am just because I did everything I could to be the best and then come to pick you and offer you a good and solid life !"

Lucian was shocked and upset and the only thing he could think of was Ella and her relation with her family and everything she was telling him . All that time he thought that she was miserable for the way she was raised and the ideals she developed and there he was , standing and watching his whole belief system falling apart . Then he said something he never thought he would :

„What is more important than a family ? Doesn't family take care of you and support you in your plans ? Doesn't family let you grow and should be happy if you find your own path ?"

Holland was confused :

„Marco did that ? I gave him instructions to be the best he can with you ,to teach you and support you every day ? Didn't he ?"

Lucian's eyes were wet and sad :

„You didn't ! He thought me what he wanted , he thought me to follow my dreams and to focus on goals , his goals not mine . I am living his life , doing the exact same things he did and the same mistakes he made ! Was it your plan , did you both agreed ?"

Holland didn't know how to soften him and to give it more sense but Lucian seemed to be uninterested :

„It was logical that you would inherit his position and being the leader would be easier for me to connect with you and you wouldn't have the problems I had . Your life would be better !"

Lucian had so many questions but sadness took over him so he was exhausted from the talk and didn't wan to spend any more energy on it .

„Does it look better ? I became cruel , emotionless and unscrupulous with no friends or family! It looks pretty fucked up !"

Lucian reached for a door lock to go out but Holland stopped him :

„You have all the best qualities , you are a perfect leader , a perfect soldier !"

Lucian stopped and gave him a cold look :

„I am a perfect loser !"

He went after Ella to see what is going on outside and how far will Monica go since he knew what she was capable to do especially when she is mad . Holland didn't want to let him go there alone so he followed him . At one point Lucian turned over to him and asked him :

„What do you see in the future ? What is going to happen ?"

Holland didn't want to do that but he felt like he own him a lot and even though it wouldn't change anything between two of them , he had to try . In a second , he changed into a bull and showed him his eyes . Lucian felt sad when he saw a blurred and dried eyes without pupils like he had a two little stones instead of eyes . Holland took a deep breath and closed his eyelids so he could focus on the energy .
