-AMIKO'S POV-
I heard my phone alarm go off causing me to quickly raise from my bed. Looking over at the clock as the time read 8:40 am. I rolled over and I ended up rolling on Nia.
She has been staying with me and it was no problem with me. I got out of bed before wiping my eyes and walking in the bathroom. I closed the door behind me and I began to use the bathroom.
Flushing the toilet, I washed my hands and started to brush my teeth and do my morning hygiene. My grandma was awful quiet so I decided to go and check up on her.
Knocking on her door before opening it, I grew confused as I stared at her bed that was perfectly made up. There on the bed sat a piece of paper.
I felt a arm wrap around my shoulder and it was Nia. She stood over me as I read over the paper.
Dear Miko and Nia,
Me and Mack are going to be hanging out today. Don't wait up! Luv you my babies..
I scoffed as I sat the paper on the dresser. I wonder why I didn't hear her ass sneak out. Although I was happy she was gone. Not like that but I knew she was gonna be having fun where ever their going.
I was glad she was getting out but I hope she don't get to comfortable because she is sick.
"Nana finna get some dick." Nia joked and I smacked my lips before slightly pushing her.
Nia walked in the bathroom and I walked in the kitchen and made us a bowl of cereal. As I sat in the bar chair,my phone rang and it was an unknown number.
Hesitating, I answered and held the phone up to my ear.
"You have a collect call from Rikers Island. Do you wish to accept this call from Luis Garcia?" My heart dropped at the name. Quickly answering yes, the phone ranged.
"Miko?" I heard his deep Puerto Rican accent.
"Daddy?" I spoke as tears began to form in the brim of my eyes. It felt good to hear my dads voice but I wish I could see him. I wish that I could touch him but he doesn't want me going to the prison to see him.
"Hey amor." He said in his accent. I took the call outside on the porch and I sat on the swing.
"What ya doing? I haven't heard from you in 3 years." I said as I wiped my tears away but they just kept coming.
"I know. I'm sorry about that. I've been having many court dates and I wanted to tell you that if this last court date go how I want it, I'll be out within 3 months." He said and I smiled.
"3 months is too long." I whined and I heard him chuckle.
"Just like 18 years it too long. You can deal with 3 months amor. I'll be seeing you then." He spoke and i nodded as if he could see me.
My father was in prison for drugs. He ran the biggest Drug Cartel and he was known around. He was set up by someone close to us and went down. When he went down, that's when things went bad.
Me, my mom and my brother, we had to look over our shoulders a lot. My mom was my dad's partner. My mom knew everything. She knew how to run the Drug Cartel. She was his Thug Misses.
My mom told me it was good to be a Thug Misses. My mom was down with whatever with my dad. They were honestly like Bonnie and Clyde.
My mom told me if I was to ever get a man in the drug Business, to hold him down. She told me to do what all I can do for him and to be by his side through everything. Now she said people say Thug Misses are not good but she says they don't know the real definition.
Thug Misses means a female that is thuggish yet still a lady at all times. A Thug Misses carries herself with balance and knowledge of the streets and her area. Know I used to think my mom was a fool, but I watched her do everything she could for my father and I know they deeply loved each other.
The operator on the call said that we had 30 seconds remaining so we just said our i love you's and our goodbyes before we hung up. I was a daddies girl and my mom loved our bond. My mom was close to my brother but she was also close to me.
I swung on the swing that was on the porch as I just watched my surroundings. I cried about how my whole family tore apart and I hate talking about what
happened. Sucking up my tears, I walked back in the house to get ready since Benji was gonna be coming soon.-BENJI'S POV-
I walked out my room before jogging down the flight of stairs. Walking in the living room, Riley, and Jayla we're sitting across from each other on the couch. I chuckled before shaking my head and walking out the door as Pierre and Kairo was walking in.
"Where you going? To meet up with my baby momma?" Kairo asked and Pierre smacked his lips.
"Nigga that's mine." Pierre said and i shook my head.
"She ain't nan one of y'all's ." I said mugging them as I unlocked the doors to my Range Rover. I got inside before settling in. Pulling off, I drove to Miko's crib.
I was hoping this lil lesson wasn't t gonna take forever. She wanted a gun for protection and she wanted to know how to use it so I was gonna teach her. I don't see why she won't let me handle it.
It was confusing me on what they wanted her for. I decided to call up Kel.
"Aye Kel." I spoke into the phone only to hear a female moaning in the back ground. I chuckled lowly.
"Wassup Benji?" Kel asked.
Kel was somebody I had do research. If I needed info on somebody, he was gonna give it to me. He also hacked into shit for me. Kel always came in handy.
"I need a favor." I spoke and it was quiet on his end so I'm guessing he wanted me to continue.
"I need you to find out some information on Amiko Garcia." I said and I heard him chuckle.
"Ain't that yo girl?" He asked and i sighed.
"No nigga. Just do what I told you." I said before hanging up the phone. I sat my phone in my cup holder and I focused on the rode as I drove to Miko's house.
I pulled up outside before getting out. Jogging up the stairs of the porch, as soon as I was about to knock on the door, it opened revealing Miko.
"Wassup mamas." I spoke and she smiled a little which was weird. It was a little. Not a wide one like she always does. Since I've known her for almost two months now, I was starting to peep every little thing about her.
"Hey Benji." She said as she grabbed her bag that was by her. She walked around me and walked to my truck. I turned on my heels looking at her confused.
"Umm, what is wrong with you?" I asked as I walked towards her. She shook her head nothing but I knew she had something on her mind.
"You sure?" I asked and she nodded.
"Can you talk?!" I asked with a little bit of base in my voice which made her jump.
"Yes. I'm okay. Just happy." She spoke and i raised a brow. Usually when I'm happy, I have a huge grin on my face. Something Miko had on her face daily. I knew if she wanted to talk, she'll speak up so I wasn't gonna pressure her.
