As I walked out of the aisle, about to go to get eggs, I bumped into someone, and stumbled backwards. I felt Deuce put up his arms to support me as I righted myself. Without looking up at the person, I started apologizing: "I am so sorry, I didn't mean to- Jackson?"

He stood there, glaring at Deuce, who was still holding me upright. Deuce glared right back, not worried in the least that Jackson was bigger than him. I looked in between the two of them, and neither of them had batted an eye.

Rolling my eyes, I snapped my fingers in front of Jackson's face. "Yo, Jackson, you better fix your face before I do something to it. And you know I could take you anywhere, anytime, and I would always win. No matter what."

He looked at me, finally, and said, "Wow. Moved on that fast, have you? Or have you always had feelings for him? That's it, isn't it. You've always liked him."

I glared at him, and said, "Yeah, well, at least I didn't pull a dick move, like you did, and cheat on you. I actually tried to ignore it."

"Look, (Y/N), I am really sorry. I broke up with her. She's history. Can we please just look past this and get back together?" He pleaded with me, putting on the most desperate look I've ever seen on him.

I just kept glaring at him, not batting an eye. "She's history, is she? You know what else is? Us. Whatever we were. Never try and talk to me, or contact me, ever again."

I grabbed Deuce's hand, and power walked down to the dairy section. As soon as we were in the frozen section, he said, "Woah, woah, woah. Hold up. Was what you said back there true? That you have feelings for me?"

I blushed, and suddenly found an interest in my boots. I said, "Yeah. I'm sorry, Deuce, I know you don't feel that way. It's fine. We can just get the stuff and leave."

I turned around, tears welling up in my eyes as I grabbed the milk and butter. I power walked over to get some eggs, ignoring Deuce as he asked me to slow down. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to stop the tears from falling.

I walked to the chips section, grabbing Rocky's favorite chips. I walked to the checkout lanes. As I stopped in the line, I felt Deuce grab my elbow. I turned to him, and saw the soft look on his face. Before I could say anything, Deuce whispered, "We'll talk about it outside. Okay?"

I nodded, and quickly set my items on the conveyor belt. After we got the stuff and headed outside, I tried to walk away. This time, though, Deuce didn't let me. He grabbed my elbow, and pulled me back.

I sucked in a sharp breath, noticing the amount of space in between the two of us. My chest was five inches away from his. I cleared my throat, and backed away a little. He smiled at me softly, and said, "Look, (Y/N), you have nothing to apologize for."

I looked at him, puzzled, and said, "What do you mean? I pretty much ruined our friendship by saying that I like you. I don't want to lose you, Deuce. I love being your friend."

"What I meant to say is, I like you, too. I have for a while. And, while I love being your friend, I would love to be more than friends, even more." He looked at me, smiling, and I blushed.

I just walked closer to him, kissed his cheek, and said, "Well, I'm really glad that you don't hate me. And I'm really sorry that I ran away. But if I remember correctly, don't you owe me a StarBucks?"

He just laughed at how quickly I changed the subject, and said, "Yeah. let's get going before it starts to get dark."

I laughed as we walked down to StarBucks.
