Chenle sat at the table, the entire family fussing over him, their pride and joy, for having to deal with such a mate. "I used to be a boxer in my day Chenle, just say the word and I'll beat some sense into that little brat."
"That's not needed Uncle," Chenle said through his gritted teeth. Why was his family like this? He loved them, he really did. But they threw their weight around way too much.
"Are you sure? We can ruin him," his auntie said sweetly, and Chenle rolled his eyes.
"I'm sure. I don't want him uncomfortable."
"He shouldn't be! He should submit to you immediately." His other uncle said, and Chenle felt his stomach twist. He hated their traditionalist views, they had always made him feel sick and tired.
"He should be comfortable first, and choose to be mine." Chenle argued.
"Jiayi, this is why you should have kept him home for his education." His aunt said, and Chenle's mother just shrugged.
"The damage has been done," she said.
"It's not damage, it's basic human rights." Chenle responded, looking at her sternly.
"They're below us anyways."
"Auntie, might I remind you that you're a true beta and only got married into the family because Uncle accidentally marked you thinking you were someone else?" Chenle said, and she looked away. "You're above no one."
"Hold your tongue, Chenle." His mother said, and Chenle scoffed before beginning to eat again. He wished they would have let him go earlier, but they insisted he had dessert with him.
As soon as he finished, he excused himself and went to the den, where his cousins were playing video games. He flopped down, and YangYang laughed at his face. "Murderous aren't they?"
"I love them but c'mon," Chenle groaned. "They wanted to go ruin my mate."
"He did make you cry."
"I cry over everything!" Chenle protested, and they agreed, throwing Chenle a control after a few minutes and Chenle promptly beating their asses, making YangYang and Yukhei whine.
"You're too good," Kunhang laughed lightly, and Dejun pouted. Jungwoo wasn't playing, but instead was napping peacefully on Yukhei's shoulder. How, Chenle didn't know. But Jungwoo was a miracle within himself for putting up with Yukhei.
A few minutes later, the door opened to reveal a very tired Kun, who flopped on the empty beanbag and groaned. "Family?"
"More like, YangYang, you snuck out again."
"Oops," YangYang giggled, and Kun muttered a few things before looking at him.
"Oops doesn't cover it."
"I know and I'm sorry," YangYang whined. "Want to play Smash?"
"Why not," Kun sighed, taking the offered controller. "I never said I'd bring you back, I just said I'd find you."
"That's the spirit!" Kunhang cheered. "Now, why the hell are you playing Kirby."
"Don't shit on a legend." Kun and YangYang said together, and Kunhang stuck out his tongue at them.
"Cuties," Dejun giggled, and both YangYang and Kunhang turned red.
"I wonder if Jisung likes video games," Chenle mused, and his family shrugged.
