Armin and his sister Historia move to a new town and while she becomes popular, Armin does so for the wrong reasons. He's classified as a freak, along with his grandfather. One day his grandfather goes missing and Armin goes to find him, coming upon a castle in the woods. He finds his grandfather being held captive by a hideous beast, whom he relinquishes his freedom to in exchange for his grandfather's.
