"Grace, look at this shirt!" my best friend, Ashley Nemo said excitedly. Ashley and I have been best friends ever since that day in the fourth grade when we were partnered to do a project. The shirt she was holding was a maroon crop top with lace yellow flowers on the bottom. "Your crazy to wear that," I said. Ashley has always been looked at as more attractive than me; blonde curly hair, blue eyes, freckles and she was sun kissed. She had had boys crawling over her all her life. She could pull off anything, from being a witch with warts all over her face, or wearing a crop top with high waisted shorts. While I was pale as a ghost, wavy brown hair and blue gray eyes, I never have had a boyfriend yet. I never (emphasis on the never) have worn shorts or crop tops. "It'll look great in my next Instagram pic!" Ashley said. She was OBSESSED with social media and boy bands. Her favorite boy band is IM5 and whenever they post a picture she comments, likes, and overall obsesses over their pics. As we were going to the checkout, I saw the most beautiful pair of Converse; all white so I could splatter paint them. I picked my new babies up and paid for them. "So, what are you doing this weekend?" Ashley asked while walking out of the door and admiring the gorgeous California sun. "I don't know, probably reading, making presents for my family and taking care of calves." I had lived on a farm my whole life, and being the youngest of 5 (3 brothers and 1 sister), was hard work. Balancing out family, church, school, farm work and my social awkwardness was enough work. "Well, I am going to a bunch of parties, shopping and hanging out with Logan." Logan Mend was Ashley's boyfriend. They had the most confusing relationship in the world. One day they were off and hated each other, then the next day they were lovey-dovey. We all go to Lakewood High, the most judgmental school you will ever come across, (think of 90210.) As we turned the corner, my life was changed. I fell into the cement, and I fell hard.
