Kacey watched as her dad unloaded a new mare from the horse trailer, she leaned against the hard, wood walls.
The Palomino stepped out of the trailer, her fancy hooves clicking against the wooden floors. "Hey dad! Want some help" The girl finally spoke, her western accent sharply piercing through her words. Her dad snapped "No, leave me alone! I'm hungry and expect dinner made when I get home" The girl rolled her eyes at his words. She stepped out of the stables, uninterested in what was going on anymore.
The girl went back home and around the house, she'd stick her hand through the broken fence as she entered her front yard. The large pine trees swinging violently as the wind blew. She pushed her dirty blonde hair out of her face and pushed the door open, with a slight creak, she entered.
She took out some leftover pasta from the previous night and warmed it up. She'd put some of the pasta onto a plate, slamming it against the old, wooden table. She ran upstairs and into her room, the wooden floors creaking behind her, she looked outside the window and over the tall wooden fence that covered her front yard. She watched as her dad put a raincoat on, running back to their home, the heavy rain smashing against the ground. He entered the house where his dinner awaited.
"KASEY, GET YO' A** OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!" Her dad yelled, as it echoed through the high ceiling. She took her hands off of the window and quietly walked downstairs, not wanting to make a loud creak. Once she reached the bottom of the stairs, she looked at her father. They locked eye contact and then her dad spoke "I want you at the stables tomorrow" The girl squealed and was about to thank him, but she stopped him in the middle. "Not to ride... just to polish the new horse's saddle. Do you have any idea who she is, her name is Sunlight Blossom and she is a world famous Dressage horse, so pay your respects to her"
The girl mumbled something and put more pasta into her dad's plate. She went up into her room and spoke to herself "Ugh, why do I have to look after the new horse, since she is so famous and rich, doesn't her owner have like a slave or whatever" The sun rose the next morning, loads of chatter downstairs. Kacey went down and saw at least 60 men in their living room.
"Dad?..." Her dad got up from his chair and walked towards her, serious look on his face. He grabbed the girl, leading, or more like dragging her up to the upstairs foyer. "I told you, the saddle better be polished, do you want a famous and professional dressage rider to give us bad ratings! Well then, go and polish her saddle, wash her, groom and tack her up!" He said quietly, but tensing his hands and teeth.
He gave her a death stare before running back downstairs. The girl went downstairs and grabbed her coat from the entrance foyer closet. She swung the door open, strong wind blowing in her face while walking to the stables. Once she entered the stables, it was only her and the 97 horses. She spotted the mare in the biggest stall and scoffed. Once tacking her up was done, she led her back into her stall, not caring if she got dirty.
She stepped inside, loud chatter all around her. She heard her dad's deep western voice speak up "Hello, boys! I know EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU know about the heaven horse herd. The stallion that protects the herd, well guess what tomorrow we are finding and catching him" The men started cheering.
