Adrien's POV:
Today is our first day of school here, and I'm nervous. Mari and I stayed in a very small apartment that's pretty nice, and only costs $300 a month. We didn't need to buy food because of everything that we had, so we were pretty much okay for the rest of the year or until Mari was ready to go home. As we walked to school, I realized something. I don't understand English. Mari told me that the French teacher would tutor me, and that she'd translate for me, and that we'd be in the all of same classes, but I was still kinda worried. Mari and I walked to the front desk, but they pointed to another wall.
"That's the student window. This is the parent window." Mari translated for me.
As we walked around, I couldn't help but feel...out of place. The lady handed us our schedules. I saw Vivian walk in.
"Vivian!" The lady called.
Vivian walked over to us. "Yeah?"
"These two are basically going to shadow you today and tomorrow. Okay?" The lady said.
"Oh, alright. Come on." Vivian said.
I looked at my schedule. Marinette and I both took French, of course. At the top of my schedule it said Agreste, Adrien. On the top of Mari's it said Dupain-Cheng, Marinette.
As we followed Vivian into the cafeteria, she introduced us to her friends.
"Guys, this is Marinette," she motioned to Mari.
"Hi." Marinette said.
"And Adrien Agreste." Vivian said.
"OMG like the fashion model!?" Someone asked, "Gabriel Agreste's son?!"
"Please do not speak of Hawk Moth." Marinette said.
"Who's Hawk Moth?" The same girl asked.
"Excuse me, but what's your name??" Marinette asked.
"Anya." Anya said.
Marinette translated for me.
"Yeah, I'm Adrien Agreste, the fashion model." I said. Marinette translated so they could understand.
"Let him speak on his own!" another girl said.
"Hey, he doesn't speak English! I'm just translating!!" Marinette said.
"Kara, lay off it!" Vivian said. She seemed like she was trying to help.
"I speak French!" Kara said, "And I'll translate for FREE."
As Marinette translated what she just said, I got really mad and started telling her off in French. Marinette stared at me, and then started laughing like crazy. Kara looked shocked, but then she started talking back in French.
"Well, I'm just trying to help! I mean, do you REALLY want this brat around you all day?" Kara said.
"Two things." I said, "One, she is not a brat, she's my girlfriend, and two, YOU'RE a brat, so you can't speak like that."
"Je t'aime." (I love you) Marinette said to me.
"Je t'aime aussi." (I love you too) I said.
"Arreter!!" Kara yelled.
"Arrest her??" Vivian asked.
"No, arreter. It means stop in French." Marinette said calmly.
"Well, what was it?" Vivian asked.
"Oh, nothing." Marinette said.
"Well, let's get to class." Vivian said.
