The Princess and Her Knight

Ji-hoo POV

As I slowly flutter my eyes open they take a few seconds to focus in on the scene around me.

'I'm on my couch? I've never slep-' my train of thought is interrupted as I feel a weight on my shoulder. I turn my head to see Jan-di asleep on my shoulder, I smile at her resting face before slowly moving her off my shoulder and lowering her onto the couch gently.

I then make my way into the kitchen to prepare some breakfast...of course it was pancakes, what else?

I hadn't realized it but I had a wide smile that remained on my face as I cooked.

"What's got you so happy this early in the morning?"

I hear a soft voice mumble, it's coming from the doorway to the kitchen. It's jan-di, she looks adorable standing there with that grin on her face.

"I could ask you the same thing"

I retort

"I have a reason."

She replies with a hint of laughter. I look up at her in question as I set a pancake on the plate to the right of me.

"I've got someone like you in my life. How could I not smile?"

She says as she makes her way over to the table, sitting in the chair to the left of where I'm standing, with her hands resting on her lap she focuses her eyes downward.

I smile and ruffle her hair in response

She gives me a playful glare but soon relaxes her expression into a slight smile

"Then that's my reasoning too. That I've got someone like you in my life."

I say swiftly before walking over to the fridge, bringing out various bowls filled with fruits to top the pancakes with as well as spray can whipped cream and syrups.

"Sunbae you keep all of this stuff on hand?"

She asks curiously, looking at all the various toppings. I nod and sit next to her.

"Pancakes have become my favorite meal, so of course I'd have every possible topping for them."

I explain as I begin choosing toppings for the pancakes in front of me and Jan-di does the same, I can see she has a smile on her face out of the corner of my eye which brings me peace.

Jan-di reaches for the whipped cream and puts some on her pancake, but she pauses afterwards and gives me a mischievous glare. I knew what she was going to do and I could've stopped her but where's the fun in that?

I stare at her, watching her very cautiously for a moment before she giggles

"Sunbae look this way"

She says as she grabs each side of my face and slowly turns my head to face her

"Now hold still"

I roll my eyes with a grin but obey her wishes and stay still for her. She then grabs the can of whipped cream and puts some on my nose and starts laughing. I soon follow suit and laugh along with her, grabbing the can from her

"My turn"

I say with a grin, she faces me and closes her eyes, smiling. I then squirt some onto her bangs in a few straight lines and begin to laugh- I had just made my own death bed.

"Gave you some highlights, you're welcome"

I say as I stupidly set the whipped cream down not thinking about my actions
