Part 4

Meanwhile, at the library, Yumi and CheongAh are studying, Yumi is writing codes with her laptop and Cheong Ah is reading a book about personality psychology. Then, CheongAh's Phone vibrates. CheongAh shows a signal to Yumi that she will be going out to talk. Yumi nods. Yumi then gets back to writing codes. After she has written all, she finds out that there is an error.
Yumi: What!!! (With a slightly high volume)
People in the library who are studying look at Yumi as she made a sound that disturbs them.
Yumi notices that and apologises to them in a low volume.
Yumi (thought) : Ahh, where the heck is the error? I spend my 3 days and 3 nights on this.. I sacrificed my sleep for this error?
Yumi tries to find the error but she can't. As she hasn't slept for 3 days, her brain is not working well. She is about to cry so she sighs.
Yumi (thoughts): Okay, I give up, I guess I need some sleep.
Yumi closes her laptop and and puts her head on it and then sleeps. Before she falls asleep, someone taps her shoulder.
: Yumi, are you crying? (With low voice)
She gets up with angry expression on her face.. and she turns to see who asked her. It is Win...
Yumi: Win Metawin!! Why would I be crying in the library?
Win: I don't know. I heard you screamed while writing codes. So I thought error came up in your assignment.
Yumi: (frown) Smart! You're right , but I won't cry because of that. I'm third year Computer science student, Win. If I cry over this thing, I have quitted since the beginning. For now, let me sleep. I haven't slept for 3 days..
Win: Why? Why didn't you sleep?
Yumi: Win, stop asking.. I'm really tired that I can't even find the error.. So Let me sleep for a while.
They have been whispering for a short time that makes students to stare at them.
Yumi: See? Stop talking. You are disturbing not only me, but also the other...
Yumi can't help but puts her head again on her laptop as she is too tired. Win just sighs and he pulls the laptop on which Yumi is sleeping. Yumi can't even get up to ask why he takes it. Just in a couple second, she falls asleep. When CheongAh comes back from talking on phone,
CheongAh: Win, why are you here? (With a low voice)
Win: Shuuu, Yumi is sleeping.
CheongAh: This volume of voice won't awake her, you know?
Win: I know, but be quiet. She is really tired.
CheongAh: Over protective... but what are you doing with Yumi's laptop?
Win takes a notepaper from CheongAh's pencil case and write on it "Helping her, Don't talk. What if you wakes her up?"
CheongAh (muttered): over worried
CheongAh writes back on the paper, "How?" "Are you doing her assignment for her? Win, I know you like her a lot.. but that's against the rule, Win."
Win "No, not like that, I'm just finding the error for her. She has done all her assignment.""Like this, she won't be able to find it. And the assignment is due tomorrow"
Cheong Ah "As you wish" "But I need to go now, When she wakes up, tell her that I have an urgent case to go." "Protect her well, dear Over protective man"
Win gives a OK hand sign, and goes back to finding the error while CheongAh packs her things and leaves.

Meanwhile, at Guanlin's house,
In the living room, Norin and Guanlin's parents are talking.
Norin: Sorry for not coming sooner, aunty and uncle. I was busy with the assignments...
Guanlin's mom: It's okay, Sweetie.
Then, Guanlin comes in, carrying a tray of tea. Guanlin puts it on the table and sits beside Norin.
Guanlin: Mom, she is lying. She didn't come because she doesn't want to see me. We have no assignment.
Guanlin's Dad: You just don't know that you have assignment, isn't it?
Guanlin: Parr! (Whining)
Guanlin's Mom: Let's just get to the point. Guanlin, have you told her?
Guanlin: not yet. (Guanlin's face becomes serious)
Norin looks at Guanlin and gives him a face of "what it's about".
Guanlin's Dad: Norin, have you talked with your parents?
Norin doesn't know how to respond as it's been a long time they haven't talked.
Norin : It's been a while.
Guanlin's Dad: So, you still don't know about the engagement?
Norin: Engagement? Whose engagement?
Guanlin: you and me.
Norin: What!!!
Norin's eyes are widened like she heard an impossible news....

Back in the library, 7:12 pm
Yumi wakes up and rubs her eyes.
Yumi: Win? You're still here? What time is it?
Win: past 7.
Yumi: Oh! Did I sleep here for 5 hours?
Win: Talk later. Let's go outside now.
Yumi: Omm.
Yumi stands up and she is about to take her backpack. But before she can, Win takes it and also her laptop.
Win: I'll carry it. Let's go.
Yumi: Thanks.
When they reach outside of the library,
Win: It's already dark, I'll walk you to your apartment.
Yumi: you don't need to
Win: I'm not asking you for permission, I'm saying I'll do..
Win looks at Yumi and Yumi gives a shy smile.
Win: Let's go...
On the way,
Yumi: Ah, when and where did Cheong Ah go?
Win: I don't know where she went but she left after you fell asleep saying that it's urgent.
Yumi: Awwn..
Win: How are you feeling now?
Yumi: Not bad, But I may need more sleep. (Laughs)
Win: By the way, I've fixed your program.
Yumi's surprised.
Yumi: how? When?... (Yumi seems like she has thought of something) Ahh, you took my laptop, ...but how did you open it?
Win: Hmm, sorry about that, I know your passcode, (Win scratches the back of his head), but don't worry. I just looked at your codes and fixed it. I didn't look at other personal information.
Yumi : no one says anything... but how do you know my passcode?
Win: all of your passcodes are your birthday, aren't they? You've said to me before.
Yumi: Really? When did I?
Win: at the beginning of this semester.
Yumi: oh, I don't remember saying that. Whatever, thank you for helping me with my assignment.
Win: It's not a big deal. Buy me a meal if you are thankful.
Yumi: (laughs) okay, I'll.
그냥 이대로도 좋아, 뭔가 바꾸려 하지마, 걱정 따원 버려 모든 비워.. (Yumi's ph rings)
Yumi: It's from CheongAh.
Yumi picks it up.
//phone call//
Yumi: What's up?
CheongAh: Yumi, are you home?
Yumi: Not yet but on the way, why?
CheongAh: Can we come sleep there tonight? Both me and Norin have a lot to discuss with you.
Yumi: Ofc , you can. What is that urgent to come sleep at my apartment?
CheongAh: We will tell you when we meet. Then, we will leave the dorm now, is it okay?
Yumi: Yes, I'll be home in 2 min.
CheongAh: Okay see ya (hangs up)

Win: Is CheongAh coming to you?
Yumi: yeah..
Win: Girls' night, huh?
Yumi: (laughs) ofc.
They arrive in front of Yumi's apartment.
Yumi: Thank you for walking me home.
Win: You're welcome. Just don't forget to buy me a meal.
Yumi: okayy... Then Bye. Take care on your way back.
Win: Thanks (smiles)
Yumi enters her apartment. 5 minutes later,
Norin and CheongAh arrive, with Soju and fried chicken.
Norin : Looks what we brought ( showing Soju and Fried chicken)
Yumi: Ahahaha, That's my girls.
Norin and Cheong Ah come in and sit in the living room while Yumi goes into the kitchen to take cups and plates.
Yumi: So what's the problem? (Walking towards the living room)
CheongAh(to Norin): You go first, your is worse.
Norin: Well,....
Yumi puts cups and plates on the table and sits beside Cheong Ah.
Norin: My parents and Guanlin's parents are planning to engage us...
Yumi: What!! Engage you and Guanlin? Daebak!
Norin: But you know, I don't want it. I just see him as a friend and plus he looks like a play boy.
Yumi: And so?
Cheong Ah: So, she wants to oppose it but she doesn't know how to tell it.
Norin: Yeah, It's been over half a year that I haven't talked to my parents. I have no idea how to tell them to cancel it. You know, it's kinda awkward.
Yumi: How about your brother? He's back, right? May be he can help.
Cheong Ah: She doesn't like that way too, I've advised her.
Yumi: Why?
Norin: I don't know. I just don't like it.
Cheong Ah: By the way, what did you say to Guanlin's parent?
Flash Back (at Guanlin's house)
Norin: Excuse me? Engagement?
Guanlin: Yes, sorry for not telling you ahead of time.
Norin just keeps quiet, a lot of thoughts are running in her head...
Norin: Amm, so Guanlin, do you agree to this? (Hoping that he'll oppose the engagement too)
Guanlin: Yes, I agree. There's no loss for me.
Norin becomes speechless.
Guanlin's Mom: Sweetie, it's okay. Take time to think about it. We are not doing the engagement too early. The earliest time is about 2nd semester of your next year.
Norin: Ahh, Nae... Oh! I forgot that I still have assignment to finish up. I'm sorry, Aunty and Uncle. I'll leave now. As tomorrow is due date, I need to finish it up today.
Guanlin's Dad: It's okay, study comes first. go go..
Norin: Nae!! see you later.
Guanlin: I'll send you off.
Norin: No it's okay..
Guanlin: No it's not.
Guanlin takes a coat from his room and Guanlin and Norin leave the house.

Cheong Ah: wow, Nice. Guanlin wants to engage with you too!
Norin: He sounds like that.... *sigh* What about yours? You haven't told me yet, saying you will tell when we three gather.
Cheong Ah: (sigh) You remember that seminar that Do Young Sunbae told me to go?
Yumi: yeah..
Cheong Ah: so Have I told you that I made a scene?
Norin: That's, you have told me.
Yumi: not to me, I don't know about it.
Cheong Ah explains about it.
Yumi: Daebak! ..... Ofc, if you didn't do it, it wouldn't be you anymore.
Norin: How is it connected to your problem? Did he complain to your department professor?
Cheong Ah: Worse than that..
Yumi: Ewee, sounds scarier...
Cheong Ah: In the evening, professor called me and told me that that man wants to see me, just two of us, and he also made an appointment through professor.

Cheong Ah: There she goes again....You just had a few sip. (They have been drinking and eating while talking) Now you're drunk and falls asleep. Yaaaa!!!! Norin!! Wake UP!! WE CAME HERE....
Yumi: Cheong Ah~ya, lower your voice. (Covering her ears)
Cheong Ah: TO DISCUSS ABOUT OUR STUFF , NOT TO GET DRUNK! (shaking Norin's body)
Norin: Cheong Ah~ya, I want to sleep, Let's talk about it tomorrow.. (with sleepy tone)
Yumi: Norin, get up, if you want to sleep, go sleep in my room, get up...
Yumi helps Norin up.
Cheong Ah: So, we'll end up our talk here?
Yumi: Yeah, I'm also tired now.
Cheong Ah: Okay, I'll clean up the table.
Yumi: Gomawo...
Yumi brings Norin into her room and puts her on her bed. Cheong Ah cleans up the table and brings left over unopened SoJu bottles to the refrigerator. Then she goes again into the living room to throw the empty bottles, they drank total 4 bottles. There she notices that one of the soju bottles is left a quarter of soju inside. She drinks it all so that she can throw them all..
Yumi comes out of her bedroom..
Yumi: You can sleep now, I've prepared bed for you too.
Cheong Ah: I'll stay for a while.
Yumi: Okay, then, I'll go sleep. Good night.
Cheong Ah: Omm.
Yumi goes back into her room. Cheong Ah sits on sofa and starts scrolling her social media.
