“Are you ready for your first frat party?” Sadie asked me the second she walked into her dorm room.
I glanced at Harry before saying, “What?”
She threw her bag on her bed and kicked off her shoes. “This guy in my Politics class just invited me to his frat party and he said I could bring a few friends.”
I hopped up with a huge grin, “No way!”
“Come on, help me pick out what I’m going to wear!” Sadie squealed.
We started going through her closet before we heard Harry clear his throat behind us, reminding both of us that he was there too. Sheepishly, we turned around and threw him a smile as he smirked.
He asked in a fake girly voice, “Aren’t you going to pick out what I’m going to wear?”
We both laughed, and Sadie said: “Pink probably looks fabulous on you!”
After Harry started looking through his own bag for a nice plaid shirt and some jeans, I turned my attention back on Sadie’s closet full of clothes before we both had an outfit to wear. My best friend shoved my clothing choice into my arms and pushed me into the bathroom, telling me that she wanted it to be a surprise what I looked like.
I took off my other clothes and slid the tight black pencil skirt on, then putting the peach shirt over it. The peach shirt was a size bigger than normal, so it looked good as well as it was comfortable to wear. I ran a hand through my hair and smiled at myself in the mirror before getting out of the bathroom and looking at Sadie and Harry.
Sadie squealed, handing me tall black heels. “Put these on! They’ll make your killer legs even more killer!”
I laughed, sitting down to put them on. “Well go on, put your outfit on.”
My best friend squeezed by me, and I looked at Harry and shook my head at her behavior. She really was excited to see me, and I really was excited to see her. He just chuckled and told me that I looked good, and I suddenly loved having him as a friend even more.

“Do I look okay?”
“Yes.”
“Can I see?”
“No.”
“Please?”
“Not yet! I’m almost done, just calm down.”
“Sadie!”
“Hold on.”
I waited three seconds before sighing and whining, “But I want to see! We’re right outside the party, what if I look bad and make you re-do it and take another ten minutes?”
“You won’t want to get it re-done,” She shushed me.
“Sadie, come on!”
She groaned, finishing off putting lip gloss on my lips before pulling away and grinning at me. Handing me a hand-held mirror, she let me see her masterpiece – and let me say, she did a good job. My best friend was my best friend for a reason.
