~Recap~

Once we enter I hear Madison whisper,

"You better stay out of our way today..."

"Wha-"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Just stay away from Matthia. I don't want you coming in my way today. What's so hard to understand about that..." Madison says, cutting me off.
      I look over at Matthia, who was too invested in TikTok to hear his surroundings.
      Does this idiot not hear what she's saying right now? What the heck is he thinking about that he can't hear this girl talking smack about me?
       Turning back to Madison, I tell her to back off and that I need to get to class. The girl just wouldn't budge.
"Do you get what I'm saying?"
"Yeah, whatever. Just let me get to class already. I've really had enough..."
         I try to push past her to get to my first class, but Madison blocks me off and turns to Matthia. Clinging onto his arm, she starts whining, saying to him,
"OH MY GOSH how rude! Matthia, look at her! She's being so rude to me when I haven't done anything to her!"
Matthia finally has the nerve to turn around to pay attention to the conversation at hand, and begins to take Madison's side.
         "Y/N, are you really going to start an argument with my girlfriend when the day hasn't even started? I mean, come on. Just for once, get along. That's all I ask, hmm?"
"She-"
          Matthia stares at me with judging eyes, while Madison gives me a smirk, daring me to tell Matthia the reality of the situation. Instead, I just sigh and softly mumble an apology to both of them. I see Madison look smug as she walks off, hand in hand with my best friend. Together, they walk towards the first class they have, which so conveniently happens to be together. The two start walking down the hallway, meeting up with Madison's second in command, Bianca Clemens. While Matthia is dragged away, a voice pops up behind me and starts laughing.
"Damn, he's really brainwashed, he didn't even try to hear what you have to say, huh? Ha... I really hate that girl. She's got to get her priorities and emotions straight."
         I look up to see Ben and just sigh. Both of us share a joint hatred for the girl, we both greet each other after the situation. Ben and I are also pretty close, we have known each other for a while now. But our relationship isn't as developed as the one that I created with Matthia. Ben moved here when we were 10, and the three of us have really been inseparable ever since... Well... Until Madison walked into our lives.
          After a brief conversation with Ben, we went our separate ways to our first scheduled classes, promising to meet up during lunch with Matthia.
          The next five periods consisted of boredom without my two best friends. When the bell rang for lunch, I sprinted out of the classroom to find Matthia and Ben in the cafeteria. As I scanned the large dining hall, my eyes landed on our table. But I counted four heads; Matthia's floofy hair, Ben's curly mess, and two more brunette heads of long, wavy hair.
           Of course, Madison and her little minion had found their way to our table. They always find ways to wriggle their way into my life and make it a miserable hell. She's been hanging around since I was a sophomore, taunting me and cornering me, trying to make sure I wasn't making any moves on her boyfriend. Ha... I don't think she realizes that he doesn't even think of me that way. I do wish that he does sometimes.
            Matthia looks over his shoulder, over at the entrance of the cafeteria, and smiled his iconic eye smile, motioning with his head to come over to the table. I head over, trudging my feet, dreading the thought of needing to hear Madison's annoying voice for the second time today.
            Lunch was kind of quiet and awkward.The situation from this morning caused tension between all of us.I didn't want to talk while Madison was around, we always ended up bickering. Obviously, since neither of us liked each other. I felt bad for Matthia at times, it must suck to see one of his best friends not get along with his girlfriend.
       Little did I know that his girlfriend would soon try to take measures to get rid of this little "nuisance," to try and have Matthia all to herself.
