Both books are amazing with amazing plot.
You can read carnal as stand alone because you will understand plot of carnal even if you do not read Primal.
Personally, Carnal is my favourite because it has more suspense but primal is also amazing and I will suggest you read primal first.
Currently I am re-reading primal. Then I will read Carnal again because I am obsessed with these books.
So if you want to read something different than usual pack stories then do give it a try.❤
