Chapter One

Harry auditon:

I am so nervous, I've been standing in line for hours now waiting for my chance to shine. And its finally happening, its my turn to be in the spot light ! I walk onto the stage, and my stomach drops. There's so many people. Oh my gosh. I feel my face go red and the butterfly's start kicking in. I take a few deep breaths. This is what i want to do I tell myself and I put a smile on my face.

The audience cheers and Simon speaks "How are you?" I'm too nervous to even realize he asked me that.

"Hello" I reply.

"Nice to meet you. What's your name?" Simon asks, looking up at me.

I stutter. "I- I'm Harry Styles" the crowd cheers

"Okay," Simon looks over at his fellow judges. The audience is still cheering. Simon continues once the audience is quiet.  "Okay Harry, uh, how old are you?"

I stutter again. "I- uh, I'm sixteen."

"Sixteen" Simon repeats. The crowd cheers again. God that makes me even more nervous. "Okay so tell me a little bit about you."

"Umm.. I work in a bakery." I reply. Parts of the crowd laugh.

"And, Harry, you left school, gone to work there? Yeah" Simon asks.

"I work on Saturday's." I said.

"Yeah," Said Simon.

"But I finished my GSE's just now. So I'm going back to college in September." I say, explaining.

"And what are you gonna study at college?" Simon asks me. In my head, I didn't think that they would ask so much about me.

I stutter. "Erm.. law. Sociology," The crowd cheers. "Umm.. business and something else but I'm not sure yet."

"Wow," Simon has an amazed look on his face, as if he didn't think that a sixteen year old would want to accomplish any of those jobs. The crowd laughs. "So what are you doing here everyday?"

I keep stuttering. "Well, I've always wanted to audition, but I've always been too young."

"Okay, alright. So what are you gonna sing?" Simon asked.

"I'll do, Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder." I reply and the crowd cheers again.

"Okay, good luck." Simon says.

I sing my heart out. And the crowd cheers. I take a bow to get rid of my awkwardness.

"Okay, Nicole. What do you think?" Simon looks over at his fellow judges.

Nicole replied. "I'm really glad we had the opportunity to hear you acapella because we could really hear how great your voice is." I smile. "For sixteen years old, you have a beautiful voice." The crowd cheers.

"Thank you." I say, smiling. The crowd continues to cheer.

Louie says. "I agree with Nicole however, I think... I think that you're so young. I don't think you have enough experience or confidence yet, okay?" Awes went around through the crowd. Those words stung me. I felt like I did have the confidence and experience I won the battle of the bands.

Simon looks at his paper work. "Uh yes, someone in the audience just said rubbish, and I totally agree with them." The crowd cheers. That puts a little bit of hope back into my system. I smile a bit. Simon continues. "Because you know, the show is designed to find someone like you, whether or not you're fifty or sixty or seventy. It doesn't matter. I think that with a bit of vocal coaching. You actually could be very good."

That felt great, to hear Simon say that to me made me feel special. "Thank you. Thanks." The crowd cheers.

Simon looks at Louie. "Okay, Louie." Simon dragged the end of the name out for a few seconds.

Louie sighs. "Harry. For all the right reasons. I'm going to say no." The crowd boos.

Simon snickers. "I actually don't think they booed you loud enough there." Louie laughs and the crowd boos louder.

I quickly say "boo." And the crowd laughs. I put a smirk on my face.

Simon says. "Okay Nicole?"

Nicole looks at me. "I like you Harry. I'm going to say yes." The crowd cheers.

I look at Simon. "And you'll be happy to hear that I'm going to be agreeing with Nicole. You're through."

I jump, and smile. I cant believe that I'm going to the next round. This is amazing ! "Thank you!" I exclaim.
