My life has never been what people consider normal. Maybe if I lived a hundred years ago, it would be, but in this modern day society, normal people aren't so normal.

I grew up quirkless, and in this world, roughly 80% of the population has one. For a little kid who wanted so badly to become a hero, hearing that you were quirkless was like watching the people you love be slaughtered.

I tried my best to keep my head up high, and believe in the dream that I could become a hero even if I didn't have a quirk. But...I eventually learned the hard way that sometimes, dreams are just that.

I still knew in my heart that this was not the end for me. I decided to enroll in the general studies at UA, and after I graduated, I started studying in the medical field. Even if I didn't have a quirk, I still wanted to help others as much as I could.

But...I soon came to realize, it wasn't in the way I thought it would be.

Midoriya was walking home from a nightly class. His legs felt heavy and weak the more he trudged down the sidewalk, as he was getting tired.

College was a pretty tiring thing in general. His schedule was never on balance as he was also working at a part time job. There were days where Midoriya's day would just be wake up, eat breakfast, get ready, college, work, and sleep.

It was a tough way to live, but he felt like it would all be worth it in the end. Once he got his medical degree, Midoriya knew life would be a little easier from there.

Once Midoriya reached his apartment, after tiredly climbing three flights of stairs, his legs practically gave out as he flopped on the couch,

"Ngh..." He groaned, his face buried in the fabric. "My legs..."

Midoriya grumbled for a few more moments as he laid there completely still, his body was sore from working all day and he was tired from his nightly classes. All he wanted to do was go to sleep.

Suddenly, Midoriya's phone began to ring. With one small groan, Midoriya lifted himself off of the couch and picked it up.

"Huh?" Midoriya looked at who was calling."Why would Shinso be calling me at a time like this? If he wanted to hang out it would've been earlier today." Weakly, he answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Midoriya," Shinso replied back. "If you haven't already, turn on your TV to the news."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Midoriya asked, confused.

"Just do it." Shinso commanded in a nonchalant tone, before he hung up.

Midoriya was left even more confused. "What could be happening on the news right now?" He wondered as he reached for the remote on the wooden table next to him.

He turned on his small flatscreen TV, and just in time, the TV turned on to the last few seconds of the words "BREAKING NEWS".

"We have breaking news tonight as a villain is in the middle of an attack on the eastern side of Musutafu," The news reporter on the screen explained. "Authorities have been able to identify him as Shoto Todoroki, a graduate from the hero course at UA. Our live camera is at the scene now."

"T-Todoroki?" Midoriya gasped.

The program cut to a recording high above a scene down below, where there was nothing but fire blazing all around.

"The villain seems to not be targeting anyone in particular, but focusing on burning everything in his path," A different reporter explained. "None of the heroes have shown up to the scene yet, as most are busy dealing with the fires the villain caused in other parts of the city. If you are anywhere in or close to the eastern side of the city, I advise you to evacuate immediat-"
