Karan stopped the car in front of Arora House. Preeta was about to get down. Karan held her hand.
Preeta(confused): Kya hua..
Karan(looking at her): Kuch nhi..
Preeta(smilingly): Toh aise kyu dekh rhe ho..
Karan: Pata nhi..
Preeta: Main thik hu Karan..Phir se tension mt lene baith jaana..
Karan smiled. She smiled back and got down.
Karan:Bye..
Preeta(waving at him): Bye..
Karan left. Preeta looked at him going smiling and then went inside.
Shrishti: Kya leke aaye di..
Preeta: Andar chal..Dikhati hu..
Shrishti nodded. Both went inside. Preeta showed her the things they bought. Shrishti smiled.
Preeta: Yeh tere liye..Yeh mere earrings..aur maa ka saaman maa ko dedia..
Shrishti(backhugging her): Aapki choice bahut achi hai di..I love you so so much..
Preeta: Ha choice toh meri..
Karan: Galatfehmi ki shikaar..Tumhari choice achi hai kyunki tumne mujhe apna best friend choose kiya..Toh yeh meri tareef hai..
Preeta(smilingly): Bahut achi hai..
Shrishti: Kaha kho gaye..
Preeta: Kahin nhi..tu chal..Main fresh hoke aati hu..
Luthra House
Midnight, Karan was fast asleep. His hands started trembling, he was sweating badly.
Karan saw Preeta amidst the fire. Her eyes half closed. She was heavily breathing.
Karan(concerned): Babydoll..Kuch nhi hoga..Main aa rha hu..
Preeta became unconscious. Karan ran to her concerned.
Karan(shouting): Babydoll..
Karan sat there on his bed shocked. It was all just a bad dream, the worst nightmare of his life but he just couldn't get over today's incident. He picked up the glass of water and drank it to calm himself down.
Karan(closing his eyes): Bura sapna tha bas..Kuch nhi hua hai..Babydoll thik hai..
He sat against his window and looked out for sometime.
Preeta was also sitting by her window thinking about him.
Karan(hugging her as tightly as he could): Jaan nikal gyi thi meri..
She smiled to herself. She mattered a lot to him, but why did it matter to her? His thoughts, opinions, feelings, even mood affected her.
Karan(angry):I don't give a damn..Zindagi hai meri yeh..She is my life..and I don't care aapki izzat..aapki reputation..agar ise kuch hojata..
Preeta: Sach mein..Zindagi maanta hai woh mujhe..Sirf dost hi toh hai hum..Phir kyu..
Her phone vibrated. She saw Karan's name flashing. She picked up the call.
Preeta: Main so nhi rhi thi..Vrna aaj tumhara murder confirm tha Looser Luthra..Tumne decide krlia hai kya kii meri neend kharab krni hi krni hai..
Karan didn't say anything. She waited for him to respond but he didn't.
Preeta(confused): hello..Mujhe call krke khud so gye kya..
Karan closed his eyes and leaned towards the window.
Preeta: Karan..Kuch bolo..Call kyu kiya tha tumne agar kuch bolna nhi tha toh..
Karan: Tumhari awaaz sunne ke liye..
Preeta: Acha toh..wait..Kya kaha tumne..Kyu kiya tumne call..
Karan: Bas tumhari awaaz sunni thi..
Preeta(confused): Kyu..
Karan: Pata nhi..
Preeta: Bajarbattu..Kya chl rha hai..Kuch bhi puchlo tumse..Jawab aata hai pata nhi..
Karan: Tum kyu jag rhi thi itni raat ko..
Preeta:Kuch soch rhi thi.. actually.. Tumhare baare mein hi soch rhi thi..
Karan: Mere baare mein kya..
Preeta: Kuch puchna tha tumse..
Karan: Bolo..
Preeta: Woh..
Karan: Kya..pucho
Preeta: Tumne bura sapna dekha na koi..Tum ab bhi mall wali aag ke baare mein soch rhe ho na..
Karan(smilingly): Babydoll yeh sb toh tumhe pata hai..Tum jaanti ho itna toh mujhe..Tum yeh nhi puchna chahti thi..
Preeta: Tumhe pata hai main kya puchna chahti thi?
Karan: Shayad..
Preeta: Jawab..
Karan: Pata nhi..
Preeta(smilingly): Bajarbattu..
Karan: ha sun rha hu..
Preeta: Main thik hu..Bilkul thik..
Karan: I know..Ab nhi sochuga uss baare mein..
Preeta: Very good..
Karan: Babydoll..
Preeta(smilingly): Sun rhi hu..
Karan: You are my life..my everything..
Preeta(smilingly): I know..
Karan: Good night..
Preeta: Good night..
She hanged up the call.
Karan(smilingly): Nhi puch paogi tum babydoll..Aur na main bata pauga..
Preeta(to herself): Kya hum sirf dost hai..
Karan: Har sawal ka jawab pata nhi isliye hai..Kyunki jawab jaante hue bhi..Use keh nhi pauga..I love you..Hum sirf dost nhi hai dumbo..Sirf dost toh bilkul nhi..
Preeta closed her eyes. Karan looked at the moon and smiled to himself.
