The chair squeaked softly as it rocked back and forth, the man watched as dark gloomy clouds rolled in from the sea. It was nearly winter now with the world ominously quiet as the rain would soon begin to fall. Birds had made their way back to their nests and few cars passed by every now and then as most everyone had traveled home now for the evening.

"Tōru dear, you might want to come in soon, it looks like it's going to be pretty bad." A woman spoke as she had pushed open the door, looking to the darkened sky as a young child clung onto the hem of her dress, looking just like him when he was that age.

"I'll be in soon." He looked up with a soft smile. As the door swung closed again he went to stand up from the rocking chair. "Ah," He placed a hand on his knee, wincing at the pain. He opened his eyes and made himself straighten up, slowly stretching out his leg to work through the pain. As he looked up it had begun to drizzle. "Twelve years and it still hurts every time it rains...," A small sad smile tugged at his lips. "I wonder what those guys are up to these days," He looked out to the yard with the little flowerbeds in front of the house, the house he bought after he married his wife, "...it's been a long time." His look turned far away as the dreary scene began to melt away in front of his eyes revealing a fifty nine foot court with a net standing in the middle separating two teams. He caught glimpses of blue and white uniforms and a flash of red, white, and green. Cheers from fans echoed in his ears as did the squeak of sneakers and the echo of the service ace he'd landed again as it hit the floor with a bang. "Nice job, Oikawa!" He grinned as sweat ran down his temple and his feet landed back on the ground.

His eyes moved to see the street softly illuminated by warm yellow-white street lights on a walk home from a practice that had run late again, "Stop, Iwaizumi. It's not that big of a deal so quit frowning at it." It was the first time he'd shown up at practice with his new shiny white knee brace, "I told you that you were overworking yourself." He kept frowning and turned away, walking farther up the street, getting ahead of the other boy. "One day Oikawa you're only going to be in your thirties with a ruined knee, maybe two if you keep it up, and I don't want to hear a word of complaint about it when it gives you hell on a rainy day. Let's hope you move somewhere sunny."

"Iwa-Chan," He whined with a pout, "I expected you to care a little more. My poor little knee, ruined, because I worked it too hard so we could try to get to nationals this year. Can't you have a little mercy?" He pleaded, a grin now on his face. All he heard was a soft groan and knew his eyes rolled, but his pace slowed ever so slightly to allow him to catch up.

"You where right Iwa-Chan." He spoke softly, his words nothing more than a whisper in the rain that now poured. His knee ached as he walked to the door, his legs moving with a slight limp. He reached out his hand and it rested on the knob as he paused, looking down to his feet with a soft smile, "I should have moved somewhere sunny." He opened the door and walked inside.
