Being part of the black team has been fucking hell since Len became Captain, I don't understand what the point of not moving from the fort is, sometimes it seems like they just want to be disconnected and never come back. It's not gonna be my case, I'm sorry.
The worst thing about being second in command is that when the captain is there, your words are worth shit, that's why I always choose to go on missions with the scouts, not just to get away from that damn mandate, but also to get to know the island little by little. Knowing its details and there is always a chance to find some special item, which can be used later.
- Kristine, honey -Len tells me- Kristine?
- Ah yes, I'm coming, dear -I answered.
Len is my boyfriend, but not because I like him, but because I wanted to know his strategies, plans, strengths and weaknesses. Which resulted in someone who can't make a good strategy nor even if he has it in front of him. Len doesn't know anything about attacking or defending, so he chose with the other forts not to attack and just to live locked up.
There's no room for love in this place, this is all a fucking illusion that I can't get out of unless I get to that tower. I just have to know how to use my cards and I'll get there.
We're in the command center discussing how we can distract the Blood-Hunters near the tower, so we don't lose anyone.
- We can start with an explosion near them, that would make several trees fall, which would cause a lot of vibrations, a small team would have to go. -Len proposes-.
- What about the others at the fort? -asks Carl, one of the doctors at the fort.
- What I was thinking of was a sort of plank construction, we put them in various of the trees, and they go down through them, similar to a bridge, as only the ends of the planks which will be near the tower are going to be on the floor, they will not feel the vibrations very much.
- The Blood Hunters will feel the number of people coming, plus walking the boards will generate strange vibrations for the creatures," replies Karl.
- Shit... you're right.
Len's too pathetic for this. We have one of the best camps, but Len doesn't know how to take advantage of that. If I was captain... everything would be different... which gives me an idea.
- We can examine the area and see what our advantages are -I propose.
- It's very dangerous, it's going to be infested with those monsters -says Carl.
- Yes, but we have a temporary amulet, I know it only lasts a few minutes but...
- It's our only amulet and we can't waste it, for something that may be useless -Karl interrupts me.
- I remind you that you're just a damn doctor and you have no mandate here. -I answer.
- Because if I did, I'd leave you without an amulet with those monsters.
- Okay, enough -says Len.
Carl and I have a complicated relationship, it was always a pain in the ass, I can tell how he sees me with a face of hate, yes, the feeling is mutual Carl, but it is not my fault that you gave a respiratory attack for an allergy. I'll deal with him soon enough. But first I have to turn the game on its head.
Meanwhile I see how Len is looking deep into the map on the table, he's thinking about it...
- It has to be done -says Len.
