"WORK FOR ME." (Y/n) jumped out of her skin as Chisaki's words came as a bolt out of the blue. Her breath was caught in her lungs in a split second making her choke on air.
Did she just hear him right? Was he really asking her to work for him? She put a hand on her chest, where her heart was pounding like a jackhammer, to calm herself. Chisaki raised a brow as he watched her cough gaudily. Amused by her reaction, his lips curved into a smirk.
'His words alone can make me choke. What a man.' (Y/n) cleared her throat and looked at his amber eyes which Chisaki found rather daring.
No one in the right mind would look him in the eye, not even his most loyal underlings could. If there were, it would be the old man and Jikan, his sister, and the rest would be those who have a death wish.
"You're bold enough to meet me in the eye? Most of the people are cowards, who look down my feet. But then, they don't deserve to meet me in the eyes because they are all dirty. They are only allowed to look at the dirt under my feet. But you..." Chisaki brushed his gloved finger across her cheek to her neck trying to figure out what was so captivating about her? As far as he could remember, he should be despising her every existence for waltzing in his life with a picture of that wretched squid.
'How are you doing this?' He thought as he couldn't wrap his head around the thought that some girl who he barely know— no scratch that, who he utterly doesn't know, makes him feel these unwanted confusing feelings.
"I'm sorry." (Y/n) apologized looking away from his captivating amber eyes, down to her feet as she found herself caught in fear and anxiety.
She was quite intimidated by the man in front of her and she didn't want to push his buttons. She can't let this opportunity slip away from her. After getting his number, she was stuck and she never seem to have the nerve to message him but now, he's just in her arm's reach.
"Look at me." His tone was commanding and in a instant, her head shot up meeting him in the eyes once again.
