~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Broken Skull
John Watson had just arrived at his classroom. He walked in and greeted his teacher, Mrs.Hudson. As he walked to his seat he saw a boy he didn't recognized sitting alone in a corner. He sat down and watched the boy curiously.
"Good morning boys and girls!" Mrs.Hudson said cheerfully.
"Good morning Mrs.Hudson," the class said back in union.
"We have new student today!" She motioned for the boy to walk over. John watched him closely. "This is Sherlock!"
"Hi Sherlock," everyone said. He waved slightly then walked away.
"Umm, Sherlock, you need a seat." he turned around and glared at her. "John, I'd that seat belong to someone?" she motioned to the empty chair.
"Umm no. No it's not," he said quietly. She told Sherlock to go sit by him. John gulped as he sat down at glared down at him. He leaned over and pulled something out of his backpack. John watched intently as he did so. He then, pulled out a skull. John was confused. Why in the world would he have a skull in his backpack?
"What is that?" he asked. Sherlock looked at him as though he was an idiot.
"It's obviously a skull, duh."
"Why to you have it?"
"Because its my friend."
"Oh okay."
"Okay class, playtime!" Mrs.Hudson yelled happily. Almost all time was playtime in her class.
Sherlock stood up instantly and ran over to the chest with dress-up outfits. John followed. Sherlock put a big pirate hat on top of his black curls and an oversized red pirate coat over his normal clothes. He jumped at John with a plastic toy sword as a weapon.
"Do you want one too?" Sherlock asked.
"Umm, sure," John said ready to play too.
"Okay I'll be right back!" With that he was running back to the box. He tripped on the way and he and his skull friend fell. "Ouch!"
John ran over. "Sherlock are you okay?" John tried to help him up. He scratched up his knee.
"Yes I'm fine, I'm fine," he said pushing john's hand away. But then, tears started to form in his eyes. "My skull!" The skull had rolled away a little bit away from them. It had a big crack on the top of it. A tear rolled down Sherlock's cheek. "He's broken! He's hurt! I broke my only friend!" he said starting to cry a little more. He hugged the skull close.
"Don't cry," John said trying to comfort him.
"Leave me alone," Sherlock said standing up and taking his skull with him. John stood up and started to follow but then he got an idea. He ran over to Mrs.Hudson desk.
When he got back Sherlock had gone back to the corner he was sitting in that morning. He was talking to his skull, still crying a little. John walked over.
"I said leave me alone," Sherlock said turning away. John sat down in front of him anyway.
"I want to help."
"How can you help?" he asked looking at him. John pulled a big bandage out if his pocket. He pulled of the papers and reached for the skull. Sherlock pulled away.
"Please," John said quietly.
"Fine," he said holding the skull out.
John gently place the bandage over the crack and kissed it on top of the new bandage. "See he's all better."
Sherlock wiped his eyes and looked at his skull. He smiled and looked at John.
"Thank you," he said.
"Your welcome," John said happily, "now I think we need to put him up somewhere and then we can go play pirates again!"
Sherlock was still trying to wipe all his tears away. John gave him a kiss on the top of his head to try and help him feel better. They both smiled.
"Come on!" Sherlock said jumping up. He grabbed John's hand and they asked Mrs.Hudson to watch over the skull. Then the ran and played pirates for the rest of the day.
