study

note passing

today was the day. day one of studying with this person he doesnt know. or at least, harry hoped he doesnt know who it is

harry got up, got ready, and waited for ron and hermione in the common room. he sat down just looking at the fire. he couldnt stop thinking about how he probably has to study with draco. just thinking about sitting near him while he basically embarrasses himself because he doesnt understand what's going on makes him nervous

ron taps harry's shoulder, making harry jump a little

"didnt mean to startle you mate. ready to go to breakfast?" ron asked 

"yea. let's go" harry got up and the three of them left

"so," hermione started, "what were you thinking about?" she asked harry

"huh? i wasnt thinking about anything"

"harry im not stupid. what were you thinking about" she said strictly 

"about how today is the first day of studying. i still think malfoy is going to be the one who's tutoring me. and i still dont know how to feel about it"

"well can you please pretend to be ok with it, just for a little?" she asked, sounding like a child asking her parents for something 

"you know, i dont understand why you would have to study with malfoy," ron said. "it just doesnt make sense. everyone knows you two arent very fond of each other"

"that's probably why he put us together. i dont know, maybe it'll be better if it's us two. because it'll make the tutoring go by faster?"

hermione shook her head and rolled her eyes. "you arent making sense"

they went into the great hall and sat down in their usual spots. harry sat so he was facing the slytherin table, ron and hermione sat on the other side so their backs were facing the slytherins

harry was shaking his leg up and down and fidgeting his fingers. he was just looking down at the table while everyone else was talking 

hermione was going to ask harry a question but saw how he looked nervous 

"harry, what's wrong?" hermione asked even though she knew exactly what was wrong

"i cant stop thinking about the tutoring" 

"we literally talked about it like five minutes ago to help you calm your nerves. stop thinking about it" she said sounding irritated 

"i cant just stop thinking about it. it's all i can think about"

"you cant stop thinking about malfoy" ron said and smirked. he always joked about harry and malfoy when he was in a good mood
