Chapter 3

It was almost midnight. Katsuki still hadn't let the girl out of his out of his sight since she had awoken and joined him outside.

Aizawa explained that the man who was brought in had been her father, which meant that she now didn't have any remaining family and needed to be raised by someone, preferably a family, but Katsuki insisted on taking responsibility over the child. Aizawa eventually gave in, but said that he couldn't do it alone.

"You get along well with Kirishima, right?" He questioned.

"Well, yes bu—"

"Kirishima!" He turned and called to the boy, who was explaining the situation to a by-stander.

He saw Aizawa and quickly excused himself. He jogged over. "Yes? What is it Aizawa-sensei?"

"You're gonna help Bakugou here take care of this girl, I don't trust him with the responsibility to be completely honest with you." He said, glancing in Katsuki's direction, who glared back at him.

Eijirou took one look at her and immediately bent down to ruffle her hair. "Hey there!" He shined a smile at her, making her eyes widen, probably examining his sharp teeth. "What's your name?" He asked with charm.

"Uhm.. Mo

He got back up and and grinned at Katsuki, before turning back to Aizawa and giving him his consent.

Aizawa cleared his voice and pulled up his clipboard to read it. "We've identified her as Mahoro Shimano. Apparently her mother died at the age of three, and— he trailed off.

"She has a brother."

So here we are, in my room. With Mahoro.

I was on the bed,, while Eijirou was setting up his crib.

Eijirou had taken a shower to wash off all the black smudges and ash he had obtained from crashing through enflamed buildings, and then helped me wrap up my cuts and burns.

"Yknow, his 'said' mom addressed Kaito as a boy, yet Recovery Girl said his gender wasn't clear..." Katuski said, starring directly into Kaito's soul.

Eijirou paused for a second. "Well maybe he doesn't have a specific gender?" He said, unsure.

Katsuki turned to him and raised a brow, his eyes drifted to the ground in thought.

"That's always a possibility... after all I'm—" he stopped himself. He turned back to Kaito. "Nothing never mind."

"What~~..? I'm curious now!" Eijirou insisted, shining Katsuki his puppy eyes.

Katsuki huffed. He's known Eijirou for a while now, and even trusted him with his life, as much as Katsuki refused to admit it, they were best friends. He had the right to know.

"Kaito could be non-binary, or have some soft of uncommon gender identity." He started.

Eijirou's eyes focused on Katsuki, he watched every expression he made as he spoke. He had the feeling this was important.

"It's not that uncommon.. and it's not a big deal.. I didn't know myself until I was thirteen.."

Whirling with thoughts, Eijirou gently nudged Katsuki into speaking his mind. "... know what..?"

Katsuki looked away. "That I'm intersex.."

"It's not important! And it doesn't change anything..! It's just that I—"

Eijirou had gotten up and placed a hand on Katsuki's shoulder.

"It's fine, I don't think of you differently, though I must admit I have no information on the matter..." he trailed off. "Tell me more." He gave a small, encouraging smile.

"Oh..! So that explains your protectiveness!"

They were on Katsuki's bed, talking about his gender identity, which was all very interesting to Eijirou.

He told him about his natural female instincts, his physical attributes, emotional variations and a lot more. Eijiro listened closely to every second of it.

Katsuki was born with mixed gonadal dysgenesis, which is a rare disorder of sex development in humans. Due to this being very rare, Katsuki is unique in himself, and has yearly checkups to gain information on the matter. Unlike some patients, he has a normal male genitalia and somewhat normal male muscular build and structure, yet he has some varying attributes, like his abnormally large chest and small waist. Females gain 'curves' or broader hips at puberty, this is due to the fact that it makes it easier to carry children, Katsuki also has larger hips, but this is because of the XX (female) chromosomes in his DNA.  This disorder has to do with abnormal sex (male XY and female XX) chromosomes, which can be related to intersexuality, thus making Katsuki have female characteristics, both physically and mentally.

But Katsuki didn't tell Eijirou everything, only a brief explanation.

Katsuki yawned, catching Eijirou's attention.

His lip raised up in a small smile. "C'mon, let's go to sleep. You look tired." He fluffed up Katsukis hair with his hand. "Tell me in the morning."
