"I am sorry but no," I said for the 50th time, "We don't sell horse food."
"But-" The customer began again, successfully achieving to get on my last nerve.
"We only sell supplies for the animals present here," I cut them off, politely, as I calmly gestured to the numerous kinds of animal, sitting in their play-pens, either sleeping, eating, or shamelessly licking their balls.
"Alright," the customer sighed in defeat, "Do you know any other shop-"
"No I don't." I said, "But if I come to know, I will surely inform you."
The man left, mumbling something about my shop as I waited for Namjoon so I can go home. Walking around the shop, I knelt down in front of the puppies, pulling one into my lap as I fed him his vitamins.
"Namjoon should be here by now," I mumbled to myself as I looked at my watch, 7:15, he is never late and the shop closes at 8:00. He must work extra tomorrow.
My thoughts came to a halt with the soft ringing of the bell at the top of the front door. Some of the animals looked up with beady eyes as I moved forward to great the customer.
"Hello, I am Min Yoongi. How may I-" Before I could finish, she walked passed me, straight to the cats, causing me to only get a glimpse of her back, brown hair sticking out from underneath her cap, length undetermined as they became hidden when she pulled up the hood of her sweater.
Shrugging, I walked behind her, curious of how she knew where the cats were. 'Maybe she came here before' a voice echoed in my mind. I stood there for a while, as she picked up a few kittens, seating them in her lap. She played with them for a while, one by one, picking all seven of them out, just petting them, whispering something to them in a soft voice, words I was unable to hear.
7:45 I looked at my watch. Seems like Namjoon ditched me today. Whatever the case, I will have to close up soon.
I cleared my throat, "May I help you?" I asked, impatience clear in my voice.
The girl finally looked up at me, eyes hidden behind the hood while a mask covered her face, "What time is it?" She asked in a beautiful yet trembling voice.
"Uhh," I answered like a dumb-fuck, taken aback that she actually spoke, "It is 7:50. We will be closing soon. But we can wait if you need more time to decide."
She put the cats back before standing up, "It's alright," She answered with confidence but voice still a bit shaky. I was tempted to ask if something was wrong but who was I to put my foot in the life of a random customer.
I walked up to the front of the store with her, "Is there anything else I can help you with?" I asked as I stood near the cash register, only to be responded with a slight shake of the head.
"I am fine," I heard her sigh to herself before she walked away into the night.
8:00. The watch said. Time to close and no sign of Namjoon yet.
