Hadley could feel everything surrounding her, it was closing in, slowly but surely. Anxiety, loathing, terror, blame. That was everything her mom was feeling right now, she could tell without even having to turn around and look at her. It was weird, ever since she was little she had the ability to read the room, every emotion someone was feeling was quite obviously shown to her through their energy. She slowly stood up, she could hear her mom squeak as she stumbled a little. The roof was four feet out, by at least six feet across. It was enough for Hadley to position herself far enough away to where if anyone figured out how to open the window, no one could touch her. She wasn't gonna let anyone do that anymore, she had enough touching to last a lifetime.
"Baby girl, please let us help!" Her mom's hoarse voice told Hadley she had been sobbing for at least an hour, probably since the police arrived at her house an hour away and told her what was going on. Hadley scoffed, she loved her mom, but also resented her for giving up so easily. Hadley was just a child, a child who needed her mom and she wasn't there. She took a step forward, instantly the anxiety and pain rose in the room behind her. She smiled as a gust of wind hit her, causing her foot to slide towards the edge. Hadley quickly sat down and steadied herself.
"Hadley," her mom was cut off by the door opening, revealing three people.

Mackenzie stepped into the room, ignoring the police and women she knew was the mom and instantly looked at the small kid positioned on the roof in front of her. It was the worst case of deja vu she ever had, except she was on the opposite side of the window. Hadley sat near the edge, her small frame was being blown around ever so slightly, Mackenzie could see by the way her hand laid on the roof and her knees tucked close that she had no control over her own body like Mackenzie did four year ago. She could be easily swept off the roof by the strong winds that blew around the city. The clouds were gray with incoming snow that made everyone worried for her safety.
"Cassandra Hobbes, this is Agent Redding, Agent Delacroix will be joining us shortly," Cassie said as she shook the police's hand. Celine was transferred to DC a year after she got Mackenzie off the roof, she was now one of the most respected agents in the bureau.
"I'm Mackenzie McBride, a part of their agents in training program," she said, Cassie knew that Mackenzie preferred to introduce herself, it was a part of her need to control. The Naturals Program was still under wraps, so they opted for the more public teen summer program name, yet it wasn't summer, and now she was getting weird looks.
"I have some experience in- this" she said motioning towards the window.
"I was twelve when I needed to be heard, when I took a risk just so people knew how much I needed to just be listened to," Mackenzie explained quickly before making her way towards the window. She knew as long as she didn't try to open the window or try to convince her she's wrong, she'd be able to talk to Hadley. Cassie, on the other hand, had to talk to Hadley's mom, try to get as much about Hadley in order to take the right steps. She hoped talking to Mackenzie would buy Lia and Michael some time to interview the dad, and Sterling, Briggs and Micheal to get evidence from the house. But right now, she just needed to figure out why Hadley was on the roof.

"So Hadley is 13 correct?" Cassie asked as she, Dean and Victoria stood outside the room. Victoria had puffy eyes, her hands played with her sweater.
Behavior, personality, environment
Cassie wasn't normal, neither was Dean, they were all different. She had an aching feeling that Hadley was different like them too. Looking at Victoria Bridges, she could tell she was naturally panicked, probably diagnosed with anxiety and took meds for it, she was constantly trying to do the right things in the wrong way and second guessed herself. She wasn't good in crowds, preferred to be by herself, ate little to nothing when stressed.
"Yes, she's thirteen," Victoria said as her fingers started to play with her sweater even more, "she's smaller then I remember, the last time I saw her she was small but not that small. I knew it was a stupid decision, I knew that leaving her with him-"
"Why was it stupid?" Cassie asked, cutting Victoria off.
"He- I don't know he just doesn't enjoy introverts, he is a very loud man with a big personality. It was one of the reasons we split, he was constantly getting on me about my behavior around people,"
"Did he ever touch you?" Dean asked and Victoria looked down.
"No."
Cassie could practically hear Lia's voice calling out the lie in her head.
"What were Hadleys hobbies?" Cassie got a sneaking suspicion that Victoria didn't know much about her daughter nowadays, so she went for previous Hadley, the one who was a normal little girl.
"She loved to sing, she also took a few dance classes but she has no balance so we stopped those. She is more of an artist, loves to draw and paint." Victoria smiled warmly, her smile was one that could easily light up a room. Cassie felt a twinge of sympathy towards the women. She couldn't begin to understand what it would feel like to see your kid up on a roof threatening to jump.
"She's very empathetic, she always was but now, when we do get together, she talks a lot about others feelings. It's weird like she knows what I'm feeling without even looking at me." Victoria laughed and Cassie looked at Dean. Just like Michael, except Michael used facial and body cues.
"Thank you, you can go back now." Cassie motioned to Dean as Victoria rushed back into the room.
"Call Michael, you replace him in the interview, I need him here now." She said and Dean nodded before placing a kiss on her forehead and leaving. Cassie turned towards the door and sighed. Hadley was intuitive, but how did she get there? And when did it become more then a small gift and turn into something she couldn't switch off like the rest of them? And what triggered that change?
"This just got a lot more difficult."
