*This story is going to be modern.(again)
The family is going on a road trip to the airport for the winter vacation. They are going to be driving for 2 hours, starting by 9:30 PM
to get to the airport in the before 10:30.*Alexander's POV, 8:45 PM
I finished packing all the luggage in the car. That was the easy part, the difficult part was getting all 9 family members inside the car before 9:00 pm.
Don't get me wrong, I love my family more than anything in this life despite the common belief of me always putting work over the family.I will do anything for this family but sometimes I wonder, why did we think having 7 children was a great idea?
A normal road trip with a normal sized family, max 2 kids, would be more relaxing. Sure, there would be bickering and small mishaps along the road, I experienced the same with Phillip and Angelica.
But with our family? There would be a constant fight, verbal or physical, the youngest crying over nothing, someone constantly asking "are we their yet?", me having to pull over every 2 hours because a certain family member has short bladder and drinks too much water, having to worry about another certain family member that gets road sick after a couple of hours and STILL having to concentrate on the road.
This trip will be no different. The only thing that will change is the length of the road tip.
2 whole hours.I am not excited for that. Eliza booked us a 12 day stay at a fancy hotel she's been saving up on. I'm currently on leave for 14 days, like most of the staff. The hotel will be great, but the road trip? Not so great.
Suddenly I hear a pitter-patter of feet coming my way. I look to see my 2 year old son,William ,running to me.
"Daddy, daddy!" saying while showing grabbing hands towards me, which clearly meant "pick me up!"
I picked him up."Where's mommy, bud?" I asked while hopping gently up and down.
"Inside the TV room" he said while grabbing onto my hair. My youngest son always was loud and well spoken despite being a 2 year old.I walked to the TV room only to hear Sponge-bob blaring on the TV. Eliza immediately saw me.
"Are we ready to go" she asked.
"Yes,the real challenge is getting the kids in the car." I said.
She merely laughed. What's to laugh about?"Okay, kids time to get into the van!" everyone groaned. I guess they hated road trips as much as me.
Getting the kids in the van went as expected. AJ kept sassing us about why he should be in the passengers seat until I got sick of it and just shoved him in the van.
Next was John. John had 3 water bottles in his hand so I stopped him.
"What's wrong,Pops?"
"Hand them over." I said, motioning to the water bottles.
"But, Pops! You know how dehydrated I get!"
"But I also know how you bladder works so hand it over." I said.
John gave me 2 water bottles and kept the other one. He got inside the car.Angelica and Phillip were already in the car along with William,AJ and John. James already made himself comfortable at the back with his earphone in.
Eliza sat in front with our newborn in her hands. Finally, after triple checking everything and everyone,I got inside the van and started it.
Everything was finally at peace-
"William! Give me back my phone!"
This is going to be a long drive.
