"So Jordan's house tonight? I hear his party is gonna be killer." Matt pats Oli's shoulder.

The two were walking home from school. Best friends and neighbors, how cliché. They had known eachother since they could remember. Oli and Matt were closer to eachother than they were to their own brothers. They were in high school now, things started to change.

Oli flinched beside his best friend, "You know I don't do parties. And I feel like a Jordan level party will be way too much for me. I almost had a panic attack at my cousin's birthday party..."

"I know but I'll be there. And you can always come to me. I'll make sure you're safe." Matt looked sincere, it made Oli feel secure and safe.

Oli smiles down at the ground as they continue walking. Matt was just being nice, why did it seem like it was a big deal? They were just close friends, he needs to get that in his head.

"I'll try, but if we have to leave because of me don't get pissed off." Oli yawns, kicking a pebble on the road.

"As long as you're okay I'll be okay." Matt slung an arm around Oli.

He grinned, a blush on his cheeks. For the past few weeks he has been questioning whether or not he had feelings for Matt. Either way, they were still friends, so most of the time it didn't matter. He was okay with just being friends with Matt, sometimes he wished they were more though.

Oli stood outside of Jordan's house.

The windows were flashing different colors every time Oli blinked, the music was loud and yet muffled, due to it being inside the house. There were people smoking on the porch and people already passed out on the lawn. There was toilet paper strung across the trees and cups that reeked of alcohol littered across the floor.

To Matt, this seemed like heaven. But to Oli, it seemed like hell. He couldn't even begin to fathom how many people were in the house, there were people everywhere. There was an upstairs, a basement, the backyard, the living room. Everyone was everywhere and Oli wanted to go home.

He pushed through the fear. If he was going to live life to it's fullest, he needed to get rid of those fears he had. And he liked being with Matt, even if this situation was a bit extreme for him.

"Matt! Who's this? Your new pet?" Oli recognized Jordan, who was one of the athletes with Matt.

He didn't know what sport they played because it changed every time he asked. He didn't bother to understand, Matt was so drastically different than him. And yet they had fit so well. They were best of friends and neither of them seemed bored of eachother. Oli didn't know what Matt saw in him, but he didn't bother to ask.

"Nah, this is Oli. He's new, be nice to him." Matt ruffles Oli's already messy hair.

He waved to Jordan and his friends. They seemed so intimidating, he was a bit scared of them. But he didn't say that, he bit his tongue and smiled as if nothing was wrong. They all greeted him and then walked off to go party some more.

Oli looked up at Matt, who grinned down at him. They didn't have much of a height difference, but Matt always made fun of him for it. Not in a bad way, just friendly teasing. Oli thought it was cute in its own special way.

"Let's get some drinks, sound good?" Oli could barely hear Matt from all the music blaring.

He didn't want to speak, as he was too afraid. So he nodded, hoping Matt got the message.

The two of them walked and weaved their way through the crowd of drunk teenagers in the house. They had finally stumbled upon the kitchen counter, where countless bottles of booze were lined up. Some where half empty, some were completely full. Either way, there was something for everyone.
