"This is stupid, I don't wanna do it..." Oli complained.

"Come on, you scaredy cat. Why won't you stargaze with me?" Matt gave him a sad face.

Oli felt bad, how could he say no to someone like that? Someone like Matt...what did that even mean? He needed to start thinking straight, maybe he was drunk or something. Even if he didn't drink at all earlier.

So he lie down in the empty parking lot right beside Matt. There was no one there, just them and the stars. Well and the bugs and animals, but they didn't matter right now.

Matt handed him some of the chips they bought. Oli took them silently. He was staring up at the stars in awe. He always loved stars, this was something Matt knew. Maybe Matt brought him here on purpose, that made sense.

Away from the crowds of people back at Jordan's house. It was just the two of them, their snacks, and the stars. This would be the perfect date if they were dating. But they were just friends for now, so they were just hanging out.

Matt watched Oli from the corner of his eye. He saw how happy he looked. How Oli would smile and point out a constellation or a star that glowed brightly. The thought it was adorable how he was so passionate for these things. It was really cute how he was easily impressed by stars.

"Look! A shooting star. Make a wish, Matt." Oli closed his eyes and made a wish.

Matt did the same, he wished that he would get the courage to ask Oli out some time. He asked for whatever spirit out there to help him ask his best friend out. It was really scary, and he didn't want to be so scared. He also wished that Oli liked him back, enough for him to actually say yes to Matt asking him out. That would be amazing.

Matt opened his eyes, but Oli was still wishing. He stopped and watched him. As creepy as that was, he liked watching Oli be cute and all.

Oli opened his eyes and smiled at Matt. He was a bit embarrassed he was caught staring. Usually it was Oli who stared at him, not the other way around.

"What did you wish for?" Matt asks.

"I can't tell you, it won't come true if I tell you." Oli rolls his eyes.

"I'll tell you what I wished for, since mine's never gonna come true. I wished for my crush to like me back." Matt smiles sadly, looking back up at the sky.

"Wait...you have a crush? Really? Tell me who! Wait no, I'll guess." Oli exclaims giddily.

He was acting like an excited little kid. Well he kinda was a kid, he's still just a teen. But that's beside the point. Oli started asking Matt questions about his crush to figure out who it was.

"Okay, is she in our class?"

"No"

"Is she in our school?"

"No"

"Does she even exist?"

"Nope"

Oli looked confused and conflicted. If she didn't even exist, how could Matt have a crush on her? Unless she wasn't a she at all. Matt has a crush on a guy! Oh my God Matt has a crush on a guy! That means he's not straight, that meant Oli had a chance. Wait no, Matt has a crush on a guy, that guy probably isn't Oli, so he didn't really have a chance.

"Okay, is your crush a guy?"

"Yep"

"Is he in our class?"

"Yeah"

"Okay tell me about him then."

Matt sighed, smiling a bit, "He's kinda tall, has dyed black hair, is awkward. He's good at science but shit at math."
