It was Sunday which meant one thing, I have to call me therapist today. I've had this therapist since my baby brother died. I was around 12 while he was only 8 years old. It was like the flames got bigger as he walked in.
It was around noon, which was the time I was supposed to call her. She picked up eventually and we started chatting. She asked how I've been feeling, if my voices were acting up (which basically means if the voices in my head are saying bad things), if I was having any problems with my medication, and whatever else we could squeeze in before the hour ends.
"So, meet any new people?" She asked with a smile.
"Yeah Chrystal brought another guy home for dinner... yeah I realize how weird that sounds." I said with a chuckle.
"Wow, okay. Well what's his name?"
"Owen." I said plainly.
"Well you definitely made that sound interesting." She said sarcastically.
Afterwards I walked downstairs and found Chrystal walking in the front door with mail.
"Oh! Alex I have something to tell you!" She said running over to me.
"Uhh hi?"
"Owen wants your phone number." She said wiggling her eyebrows.
"No thanks." I said with a sigh.
"What?! I cute guy wants your number and you say 'no thanks'??"
"So you think he's cute huh?" I said wiggling my eyebrows mockingly.
"Yeah but I like someone else." She said with a wink in my direction.
I hate to admit it but I did like her a bit. But I could never tell her even though it hurt. I knew I had to get over it eventually, I'd find someone else, besides she deserves someone better than me.
"Well I'm giving him your number anyway." She said pulling out her phone.
"What?!!" I yelled trying to grab the phone out of her hand. Unfortunately for me, I'm still short. And Chrystal.... is like 5'9 she is still 5 inches taller than I am. Long story short, I couldn't reach the phone and stormed off to my room like an angry toddler.
I laid in bed trying to calm myself down but then my phone dinged. I checked and there was a message from someone I don't know. Probably just Owen I opened my phone and texted back.

Owen: Hey this is Owen!
Me: heya I'm guessing Crystal gave you my number
Owen: yeah how'd you guess
Me: she said she would, which I kinda hate
Owen: ouch, okay thanks
Me: OH- no that's not what I meant!! I'm sure you're a great person, I just don't like to give out my number to people I barely know
Owen: yeah I get it, honestly I don't either but Chrystal gave me your number anyway
Me: yeah that's Chris
Owen: so, what are you doing?
Me: oh ya know, breathing, blinking, the good stuff
Owen: hey I do those too! We have so much in common already!!
Me: yeah I guess we do
Me: also I just wanted to say, I love your hair!
Owen: oh thanks!! It took forever to grow out and I was thinking of cutting it but I'll keep it if you like it sweetie.
Me: I know you did not just do that
Owen: ok sorry sorry I was just joking around
Me: riiighttt
Owen: I'll talk to you later, k?
Me: Alright ttyl

I put my phone on my nightstand and laid on my bed.
My mind went back to Chrystal. She was so kind and smart and pretty. She's great at listening to problems. She's always there for me and can sense when I'm down. She goes out of her way to make me happy. She wants the best for everyone.
My phone dinged again but this time it wasn't from my boyfriend, Jason. I was meeting him in the park today, to break up with him. He used to be sweet but then he started abusing me emotionally and mentally. He'd call me names and tell me I'm worthless. He's also sexually harassed me. I started dating him 3 years ago when I was 18, I wasn't in a good state of mind and was easily manipulated. He wasn't open about the abuse. That's why I was meeting him in the park because if it was in a private area he would've hit me. I just hope that he doesn't hurt me.
I walked out of the house and told Chris I was heading to the park. Once I got there I texted him saying I'll meet him by the forest part of the park near a clearing. There were bound to be tons of people there since it was a wide open area. I took a seat on a bench. I scrolled through apps on my phone until he took a seat next to me.
"I'm here. What do you want?" He said sternly.
I put my phone down. I turned to look him in the eye, which I regretted instantly. He looked like he was going to kill me. A wave of anxiety washed over me.
"I-I want..." I started.
"Just spit it out!" His eyebrows furrowed.
"I want to break up!" I said louder than I wanted or intended to.
He looked pissed like I just kicked his dog. He got up and forcefully grabbed me by the arm and into the forest. He was stronger than me so there was nothing I could do. He dragged me off toward a lake. We stopped and he let me go. Once he did I took the chance to punch him in the face with all my strength. He groaned and stumbled back a bit. He looked over at me with fury in his eyes. He walked toward me and I backed up. Eventually I ran into a tree and couldn't move any farther. He grabbed my neck and squeezed. I grabbed at his wrist but nothing worked. I clawed and scratched but nothing happened.
I felt myself getting weaker.

Colder.

Tired.
My eyes shut and my body froze. My eyes, stained with tears. My mouth, tasted like blood. Last thing I felt was my body hitting the ground.
