chapter one
▏TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2020 :: 9:43 AM
Taehyung winces as the knife makes contact with the marble counter, quickly whispering a quick prayer before lifting the strawberry to make sure there isn't a mark.
He's safe.
"I swear Tae," Seokjin shakes his head, throwing an assortment of seasonings into the frying pan. "If there's a mark on the counter-"
"There isn't!" Taehyung says, sticking his tongue out Seokjin. Seokjin simply shakes his head, a large smile already making it's way to his face.
"I'm not the idiot that decided to cut fruit on the counter without a cutting board," Seokjin shrugs, unaware that Taehyung is ignoring him. The blonde too engaged with arranging the perfect assortment of fruits.
Taehyung always put a ridiculous effort into making his meals, something Seokjin often complained about. To quote, "Why the hell do you put so much effort into shit that's just going to go in your body? Fuck you and your aesthetics!"
Taehyung often finds himself laughing whenever the conversation brings itself into their life. It was one of the many things he loves about Seokjin.
Speaking of Seokjin, Taehyung isn't surprised when a pair of arms wrap themselves around his torso as he adds blueberries into the bowl. He's become accustomed to Seokjin's cuddly nature already.
"Hey, do you like me?" Seokjin says, chin resting upon Taehyung's shoulder.
Taehyung scoffs, placing a piece of pineapple in his mouth, "I've been dating you for the past two years."
"Okay, and?" Seokjin retaliates zero hints of sarcasm in his voice. "What if two years mean nothing to you?"
"I'm pretty sure they do," Taehyung snorts. "I'm also pretty sure that I'm in love with this you too."
Seokjin pauses and Taehyung assumes that he's satisfied with Taehyung's response. He continues adding various fruits to the bowl, smiling to himself at the beauty of it all.
"Okay, but do you like-like me?" Seokjin speaks up once more, and Taehyung is certain death would be less painful than this.
"Babe," Taehyung groans, desiring the urge to slam his head on the counter. "Why would I not like you?"
"What if you think my cooking is bad?" Seokjin shrugs before he continues his rambling. "What if you prefer Hoseok's cooking? Oh my god, what if you leave me for Hoseok!"
Taehyung places the knife down and shifts in his boyfriend's hold. He's met with a red-faced Seokjin who honestly seems embarrassed at his question. Taehyung resists the urge to pinch his cheeks.
"First of all, I would never. Hoseok's cooking is so dry compared to yours," Taehyung says, wiping at flour that had somehow made its way to Seokjin's cheek. "Second, I'm literally in love with you."
