A/N: I did most of these HCs with Mae. Thanks Mae, I love you bro (no homo)

Bill gently stirred in his sleep alongside Mike. His face was smushed into the pillow with Mike's leg and arm over his back. It had been a long day for them both. Mike had been at work all day and it had been Zack's first Friday of school since moving in with the couple.

Zack was the six year old Mike and Bill had adopted just before the schools shut for summer vacation. He was quite shy and it took the poor kid a while to actually start speaking in full sentences to his new dads. It was only really "yes, please" and "no thank you" for the first week but things improved from then on in. Bill swore Mike almost started crying after his first proper conversation with his son. Mike denies this.

It was now 3:07am and the Hanlon-Denbrough household was fast asleep.

Or so they should have been.

Bill woke up to a tug on his shirt. He just assumed it caught on the side table before he opened his eyes and saw the light that had spilled in due to the door being opened. He rolled over to come face to face with his son. He was stood closer than expected which made him jump out of his skin.

"Oh, hey Zack. You alright, kid?" He asked, stifling a yawn and rubbing his tired eyes.

"I can't sleep, Pa, I'm sorry." Zack admitted in a hushed voice.

"Don't be sorry. I can come and sit in your room if you want?" Bill offered, reaching out and ruffling his hair. It brought a small giggle out of his son which brought a smile to his face.

"Yes, please." Zack said, stepping out of the way so Bill could get up. Bill had to gently push Mike's limbs off of himself so he could get out of bed. He gently lifted Zack up and walked down the hall to the bedroom before coming to a halt.

"Do you want to get a snack or a drink while we're up, kid?" Bill asked, adjusting Zack to be carried more comfortably.

"Can I have a juice carton?" Zack whispered, despite Bill speaking at normal volume. Bill nodded and went to the fridge. He grabbed a carton of orange juice before heading to Zack's room and setting him down on the bed and his juice on the side table. He sat on the beanbag next to Zack's toy chest.

A few minutes had passed before Zack worked up the courage to shift towards the wall and pat the space he made on the mattress. "Can you come and sit here?" He asked tentatively.

"Of course, Zackie." Bill smiled, getting up and perching next to Zack and pressing a kiss to the top of his head.

"Is daddy okay in there without you?" Zack asked. It's what kids do. They ask questions.

"Yeah, yeah he'll be okay. C'mere," Bill opened his arms so Zack can cuddle up to Bill, "you try and get some sleep. I'm not going anywhere." Zack curled up next to Bill, who fell asleep after around twenty minutes. Bill smiled fondly at the boy before drifting off himself.

Saturday was one of the days Mike had off of work. It was great. It meant he got to wake up to his lover without having to worry about getting up until he did. Naturally, Mike was confused when Bill wasn't next to him when he woke up. Bill was lazy and didn't wake up until 9:30am on a good day.

It was around 9 and Bill definitely wasn't in the room.

Mike got up and had a look around for Bill. He soon walked past the door to Zack's room that had been left slightly open. Through the gap between the door and doorframe, the caught a glimpse of Bill and Zack fast asleep on Zack's racecar bed.

He couldn't help but audibly aw at the sight. He went in a pressed a small kiss to Bill's cheek before turning around to leave again. He was practically out of the room before he heard Bill speak up.

"Mike, come back..." Bill mumbled. Mike chuckled gently at this, grabbing the beanbag that Bill was sitting on earlier in the morning and leaned against it so he was at a similar elevation to Bill.

"I love you, Lamb." Mike whispered, holding the hand that Bill didn't have around Zack.

"I love you too." Bill mumbled tiredly. "What time is it?"

"Around nine." Mike leaned over and kissed Bill's cheek.

"Mmm, ten more minutes..." Bill squeezed Mike's hand before pulling the cover up further around himself and Zack. He felt Mike kiss his cheek before he got up. Mike returned the beanbag to by the toy chest and left the room to make the family some breakfast.

The extra ten minutes Bill had promised Mike was soon out of the window. He didn't wake up until he felt Zack tug on his shirt.

"Pa... Pa wake up. Wake up, Pa." Zack kept gently pulling on Bill's shirt until Bill began stirring to wake up.

"Hm? Morning, kid." Bill smiled, ruffling Zack's already messy hair.

"Morning Pa. Dad's awake. I heard him drop something and curse." Zack explained. Bill laughed lightly.

"Does this mean we're getting up?" Bill asked. Zack nodded, rubbing his eyes. Bill sat up and got his feet onto the floor. Zack attached himself to Bill's back in a piggyback position. Zack was giggling before squealing playfully when Bill stood up and spun them around. Bill managed to get them both to the kitchen (though the stairs proved to be quite a challenge) before putting Zack down on the floor. Zack rushed over and hugged around Mike's waist.

"Mornin', dad." He smiled, looking up at him."

"Morning Zack." Mike smiled back, lifting him up. "What happened to ten minutes, Bill?"

"I was tired! Sue me, Michael Hanlon, sue me!" Bill argued playfully. Mike walked over and kissed his forehead.

"Well maybe you shouldn't stay up until stupid o'clock working on book drafts." Bill whined in response to Mike because he was right. "I made bacon and eggs for breakfast by the way." Bill couldn't help but think 'Good, all is forgiven because you make the best bacon and eggs ever.'

He wasn't going to verbalize that.

Except, he did. He only realized when Mike and Zack started giggling. "What are you two laughing at?"

"Best bacon and eggs ever? That's straight up flattery, Big Bill." Mike chuckled, putting Zack down.

"Shut up, you know it's true." Bill smiled, getting some plates out and plating up the food for Mike. Zack padded over to the fridge, taking out the ketchup and putting it on the breakfast island. He tried to scramble up onto the bar stool. Eventually, he looked to Mike, who came over to lift him onto the chair. Mike then got some cutlery and sat next to Zack. Bill was soon over with the plates and sat on the other side of Mike.

As they were eating, Bill and Mike had the common thought that, in that moment, life couldn't get better than this.
