"Alic!" Dad calls as we head out of the airport.
"Dad!" I run up and give him a hug as Trent follows behind me.
"I'm so glad to see you!" He looks at me, and I can see the tears in his eyes, then he pulls me into another hug. "Who's this?" He asks, finally noticing Trent.
"A friend... he needs a place to stay for a bit." I tell him.
"Have you talked to Aaron about this?" Dad asks.
"No... but it will be fine... right?" I ask. Dad sighs and looks over at Trent.
"What pack you from pup?" He asks.
"Red moon." Trent answers.
"Dad know you're here?"
"Ummm... no, sir."
"Seriously, Alic! His father could think we were kidnapping his heir!" Dad yells at me.
"It will be fine... Trent just needs a break! We can call his dad and let him know where he is... it will be fine!" I am getting mad. Why is he yelling at me?
"You never think do you boy! This could hurt the pack! What are you doing! How can you not see that!" Dad yells.
I growl loudly, and before I know it, I am holding him by the throat. I snap out of it and release him quickly.
"I'm sorry, Dad! Are you okay? " I say as he catches his breath.
"I'm fine, buddy... come on, boys, let's head home." He dips his head a little as he gestures to the door. I walk past him, and he follows. Great, now my dad is acting like Uncle Rhy! I don't want this!
Dad walks alongside me as we walk to the car. He was silent the entire way home, and I could see the bruising start on his neck. Trent hums nervously. It is irritating, but I try to ignore it. I think he may regret coming back to my pack already. I see dad's eyes go foggy, so I'm sure he is telling Alpha Aaron that I've snapped... It makes for a long car ride.
"Welcome home, Alpha Alic!" Alpha Aaron says, wrapping me in a hug.
"Thanks, Alpha... but I'm just Alic." I tell him.
"You are Alic... and you are an Alpha... you are also king so would you prefer I call you Alpha King Alic... or I could make it even more official and go with Alpha King Alaric Grayson?" He says.
"I get your point. Alpha Alic is fine." I grumble.
"Good! Now that that's settled, who did you bring onto my territory?" He asks.
"This is Trenton Frasier, sir... he needed a place to stay... I figured you wouldn't mind for a few days." Alpha Aaron raises an eyebrow at me, then looks to Trent.
"And I'm guessing Alpha Gavin has no idea his heir is at my doorstep." He says. Trent looks away and mumbles a "no sir."
"You can stay as long as your father approves... you can train with Alic." Alpha smiles and walks into the pack house to his office.
"I was trying to get out of training not thrown into it by the strongest Alpha and the King!" Trent complains to me.
"Come on, boys, we need to get the guest room set up for young Trent." Dad says, walking off, and we follow.
"At least it will be less boring with a friend." I tell him with a smile, then turn to Dad. "Hey, we don't even know if Trent will be allowed to stay yet!" Dad just laughs.
"Many Alphas have tried to get Aaron to train their boys, and he always refused... this will be the first time he's said yes. No way Alpha Gavin will reject this offer." Trent shoots me a worried look. I smile, but it doesn't seem to help. "Set him up in the room across from you... I'll send someone to get you some new clothes... you definitely have the build of an Alpha now."
